(SPOILERS) Remembered?

Well, for those of you who've beaten the english version of days like I have, know that

towards the end, Namine tells Xion that she can't save even a single memory of her. And that she'll be completely forgotten. And at the very end, when Riku and Roxas fight, Riku vividly remembers Xion, when Roxas can't even so much as remember her name.

So.
Is she, or is she not going to be remembered by Riku?
Or maybe she'll be deep inside of Sora's memory, because of Roxas?

Well...

You can see that even when Roxas was fighting Riku the memories of Xion were kinda fizzing out, and the only reason he could get that flashback was because he took Oblivion which was thrown by Roxas.

So no, I don't think she will end up being remembered, she'll die forgotten like the tragic hero she was.

Riku remembered for a while, but then the memories faded away...

Dammit, I wished Xion didnt die.... :( and the thing that adds up is that no one remembers her!

Xion will eventually not be remembered by any of the characters.

This is seen by the two clips at the end of her, Roxas, and Axel on the clock tower, and then seeing it again with Xion fading away.

In the end, the only thing that Xion has close to being remembered is a small smudge of her on that picture in KH2 of Axel and Roxas and the third unidentified person.

Roxas threw Oblivion to Riku, because it was Xion, as a part of Roxas, helping Riku to stop Roxas from freeing Kingdom Hearts and taking on Xemnas

That sounds like your own theory. To be honest, since Xion was the one to want him to free Kingdom Hearts and stop Xemnas, I see no reason for her to hinder Roxas in his quest.

The only people I think that remembered her would be the reamining Organization members. I mean even if Xemnas forgot about her he still have evidence of her existance in reports.

No, it's true. Yes Xion wanted Roxas to free KH, etc. But the point is he wasn't ready to take on Xemnas on his own. He basically needed to wait til he was part of Sora again, and had Donald and Goofy by his side. That's why she asked Riku to stop him.

Again, your theory. Xion eventually asks Riku to stop him, but that doesn't mean that she threw the keyblade to Riku as part of Roxas in order to get Riku to stop him.

I wouldn't be in the spoiler section if I hadn't played through the game entirely, so yeah, I watched the cutscene, I know what we're talking about.

By whom? Another player? It's still just a theory. I always assumed that he threw the keyblade to Riku because he needed help in defeating all of the Heartless that had surrounded him.

Then again, since they cut like butter, I don't really see the validity in that anymore.

At this point, all we can say is that he threw the keyblade to Riku. Perhaps it was because of the part of him that was Xion. But we can't say it's because Xion wanted him to stop on his fool hardy mission to free Kingdom Hearts, especially after she had just gotten done telling him to free Kingdom Hearts.

That female figure has way too much womanly curves, and it's rightly too tall to be Xion, truthfully. And we don't know who that other person is either. Compare that to the drawing Naminé drew of the three in the actual 358/2 Days, and it doesn't match.

On the other hand, for the topic, there's no doubt Xion wasn't remembered. It was predictable from the get go, because they had to cover up the fact that they never ever alluded to any of her existence before, and how it wouldn't make sense in the future sequel. No mention of her anywhere in the game, not even in the Remembrance scene with Axel and Roxas, where, I would guess, Roxas got his memory back on his time with the Organization. At least a bit. It was obvious what was going to happen in that regard (which is bad in itself, because other than a minor part of Roxas that could've been explained some other way, the fact that her whole story is forgotten, and by all characters, makes the whole thing even more brought to the side considering that the plot revolved around that and on character. Unless there's some importance of this over in BBS or any future title, it remains...contrived. Not that they were able to do anything else when retconning).

I actually think putting Xion over the Deep Dive scene was rather out of place as well. It was like, "let's add random voice over here on a scene that doesn't really need it because...well...I don't know, but we'll make it work for dramatic purposes". Especially when it's been rightly confirmed that Riku was there in the first place to get Roxas back to Sora, period. And now he's following some disembodied voice...>.>. I mean, Riku didn't even have to be told to stop him. He was going to regardless for personal reasons. It was kind of annoying. It would've made much more sense if Xion spoke at the end when Roxas went unconscious only. Not drag it out. It ruined what would have been a rightly badass encounter with some interruption shouting randomly every time they clashed. Just leave it with Xion's last wish, let him go over to the castle to kick some ass, but gets interrupted by Riku. Simple enough.

But, yeah, I think Nomura explained the scene in an interview of his.

Nomura: Yes. At Xion’s core are Sora’s memories. And so what he felt, that the world’s order should be maintained, she also felt. But Sora doesn’t know anything about the Organization’s plans yet, so strictly speaking this is not exactly Sora’s feelings. The hearts freed from Heartless must return to where they came from, but if they are captured by the Organization they will not return to the body they are supposed to, so it is the same as if the Heartless took them. And that is what we saw in Kingdom Hearts II. Xion knew this, but she didn’t have time to explain it to Roxas.

-- When Roxas tries to do what Xion has asked of him, Riku hears Xion’s voice asking him to stop Roxas. Why?

Nomura: We have to look at things in order. First, the reason why Roxas throws a keyblade to Riku, and we then see a vision of Xion, is that there is a small remaining part of Xion in Roxas that wants to stop him, and makes him take those actions. The name of the keyblade that is given to Riku suggests that it has something to do with Xion. Xion wants Roxas to set Kingdom Hearts free, but doesn’t want him to face Xemnas right now. She sees that he would most likely lose. So she begs Riku to stop him.

Xion is forever forgotten thus making the catchline I forgot it.

Nope. She's forgotten but somewhere in Sora, she'll always exist. Just like Namine, Sora forgets her (this was fixed in KHII FM) but she will always have a place in his heart.

Oblivion's the best symbol for Xion.
