Well lets see. Make a tag with a pencil/pen as a stock and be creative. Its nothing like a person or character that can help you a lot by taking up a whole lot of space in a tag, nor is it nothing that can assist you.

And do vectors as well. If anyone has PS or Fireworks or whatever they use they have the Pen Tool. It does not matter if you don't know how to use it. Learn..

I like how the voting canvas doesn't contain the name of the maker, but it doesn't really work since people post their signatures BEFORE the voting actually starts. Since people post their signatures, then everyone knows who made what, which kinda defeats the purpose of not showing the maker's name. I think those who are participating shouldn't be able to post/wear their new tag until after the voting is closed.

This could help prevent any votes that are possibly biased ^^;

But newcomers are accustomed to using those pre-installed star and leaves and don't know the difference between penning and a pre-sculpted shape.

Learning is a concept I would like to see be used, but throwing limitations into the mix will discourage a lot of people. People will learn it later on down the road.

For example, Ray has a pattern of using the same type of render for his tags, and his vivid coloring. I have my exquisite typography, blending, and stock's light adjustment, Crow has his off-beat color scheme, Sora-the-one has pastel vectors, EnvyMe2x goes to the extreme in depth, Oathy relies on pastel scratchbook styles, Shiro-chan nas a personalized Live Journal thing going on and so on. I could go on forever.

Plus, people would go on an IM handle and tell their friends to vote for them, and so fourth, and should be banned from the week's competition, but it's so hard to keep track of that if we ever do find out. Then it would eventually turn out to be like the Red Scare where people would just be pointing fingers left and right.

Excellent point though, I could pick out a tag made by Dem or Dan in a heartbeat. However, if the bias thing worries you so much we could just not show the tags at all and make random votes.

But yes. Bias will be there or not, people are eventually going to conform to one way, for the best or worst of what is art and what isn't. I would wish for the best. If so, we can resort to having a panel of three to five judges that are qualified.

Like categorizing GFXers by skill. set up guide lines for each rank. then a 'Tag for Rank' sub section. were ppl drop their tag and ppl vote based on the guide lines.

in might liven things up. make ppl try harder for a better rank?

Rankings and separate competitions would only make things more confusing and difficult. Not to mention, we don't have enough participants.

Ranking belongs in the super bias National Sig League Forums.



I would suggest just ditching all "past topics"
so we wont have things like "O WE DID THAT ARLEADY" all the time.

Also Instead of announcing the winner. Post the FULL results.

like:

1st: Sparkle Motion
2nd: Crow
3rd:Darky Dee
4th: Milkman...

etc.
so users can see how well they did against others.

Kinda like HB, but not as intense, give people more of a challenge and more interested. It's just the same thing over again with a different genre of stock =/

Well I was doing that, and then the people who came in after I left stopped doing that. I thought it was useful for people to see how they ranked so they can get a gist of where they stand.
