The Basics First, the basic stuff, which you should know about. These threads have either been made by the mods, or by other helpful players, so make sure you read through them first before you start playing, otherwise you may find yourself in some kind of predicament that could have easily been avoided. Most Important: The RPG Bulletin Board The Bulletin board is probably the most important of these threads. It contains the basic story behind the RPG Inferno, rules, basic information, how to get started, and information on the mods. It is imperative you check back on this thread every once and a while, as it will be constantly updated with new information. RPG Inferno FAQ This is where you would go if you are having trouble with the Inferno. Just post what your question or problem is here, and it will be answered either by the mods, or by other Inferno players. Though you should make sure you are specific on what your problem is, and make sure to explain it as thoroughly or else your question will not be answered. The Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How of the RPG Inferno (w^5h) Though most definably not as important as the last two links, some of you may wish to discover more about the world in which the Inferno takes place. Although it is unofficial, it was created by inferno players, and is constantly updated with new information, and could be considered a very reliable source of information on the Inferno. The User Interface This is probably where you will have the most trouble, as a new player. The UI can be very confusing if you've never played an RPG Inferno. It may take a bit of getting used to, but once you have the hang of it, it'll become second nature to you. First, I'll explain to you what each button, do dad, thing-a-ma-jig does. The Information Bar contains some of the most important info that could possibly be displayed on the UI. The bar itself displays your settings, the World Map, your character profile, and help files. You can use these to move from location to location, change your info, and to read short help files written by the RPG Team. This bar is also displayed in every screen in the game. Settings Use this to access your Inferno settings and Inferno mail inbox. Here, you are given a brief status report on your character, as well as the option to view and edit your Inferno settings, an inbox that is used for Inferno messages sent to you, and an option menu, where you can turn on or off, certain extra features of the game. Map This brings up the world map, which you can use to quick warp to the starting point of any towns, cities, villages, or any other locations that you have been to.. You can use this as a quick means of transportation. As well as showing the locations you have been too, it also shows clan turf, on the right side in the legend. It shows which location belongs to which turf. Settings This will bring up all the information you could possibly need, on your character. It will bring up everything, including stats, current equipment, components, potions, spells, and so on and so forth. Use this as a quick review when you are setting up your stats. Help Files Very self explanatory. This will bring up information about the RPG Inferno itself. Check this first, before posting in the forums if you have any questions. The Status Bar gives you access to basic information, such as current location, HP, MP, EXP, and total Munny on hand. It also provides you with the tools needed in order to change stats, equip items, edit your pet, handle PvP battles and invites, and to trade with other players. Current Location ,HP, MP, EXP and Munny This is fairly self explanatory. It will display your current location, HP, MP, and Munny. Tool Bar This bar provides you with everything you need to interact with yourself, and with other players. It allows you to review your item and component list, trade with other players, Current and completed Quests, Edit your pet, change your equipment, change your stats, and to accept or invite other players in PvP battles. This one is fairly simple. Upon entering an area, this will pop up to tell you about the basics information of the area. Make sure you read this, as it might give you hints and clues on what to do next. This will provide you with all the information you need to know about your current location. It provides a list of the nearby locations you can travel to, any nearby enemies, any other players in the current area, current party information, and any NPC's or objects that you can interact with. Surrounding Area This will provide you with a list of any nearby buildings, and any places you can travel to from your current location. It provides two lists, the "Inside Area" list, and the "Outside Area" list. The Inside area list will tell you any buildings, shops, or objects you can interact with that are inside your current area. Outside area will provide a list of locations that you can travel to from your current spot. Depending on where you are, there may be a chance of encountering Heartless or other enemies if you travel to locations outside your current area, so make sure you read the information that is displayed before traveling. Enemy Radar This will display any enemies or Heartless that are within the area. By clicking on a heartless name, and then clicking "scan" a window will pop up displaying basic information on that heartless. If you click on "hunt", you will then hunt the area, and enter a battle with any heartless within that area. Player Radar This will display the names of any other players within the area, as well as allowing you to invite players into your party, and to scan them. It is also used in conjunction with trading with other players. To trade, click on a players name. Then, click on trade in the Status Information Bar. It will then open a trade dialog. Character Radar This will show you a list of NPC's or Objects that you can talk or interact with. By clicking on the character, and then clicking chat, you can engage with a conversation with them. Use this to learn on how to play, and to complete or learn about quests. The Shoutbox is what you use to chat with other players in the same area as you. But there are a few rules. Don't spam, most important rule of them all. Others include no abusing fonts, no foul language, and no flamming. The rules are the same as any other chatroom. The Status bar gives you all the information needed during a battle. It displays the currently selected enemies stats, turn order, current turn, and the currently selected allies stats. Use this to determine who to attack, heal, or, when the going gets tough, escape. Current Turn This will display who's turn it currently is in a battle. Selected Ally/Enemy Stats This will display the current stats of the enemy and ally that you have selected. This is what will give you the information needed in order to asses the situation, and allow you to decide your next move. Use it in conjunction with the Turn order. By selecting "View Team Members" on either side, you will be able to view the stats of any other enemy or ally. Turn Order This tells you the order of turns of you and your enemy, based on speed. Use this to figure when you will be able to do what, and when. The command bar will allow you to attack, use magic, escape, and use items, during your turn. Use this to choose what action you wish to perform. Attack Use your physical weapons to attack. You are able to choose whether or not if you want to use a sleight, (if you have the Adrenaline to use the sleight, that is,) and what part of the enemy to attack, potentially hitting their weak point. (Discover the weak point by scanning the enemy before going into battle.) Arts Use your currently equipped magical arts to attack or heal. Using arts costs MP, however, so you must watch your MP levels. Items Use any items you currently have on you to heal HP or restore MP. Escape Attempt to escape from battle. If you and all your allies manage to escape successfully, you will escape from battle. Although the battle will be considered a loss for you. The battle jukebox lets you select and play music during battle. The songs in the jukebox have all been chosen by the mods, and most are in a MIDI format. How to Play Basic Concepts These are the basic concepts of what makes a good player. Read these, as they are very important. Munny Munny is the currency used in the RPG Inferno. You use this to purchase items within the game. You gain munny by fighting heartless, and by selling components that heartless drop. Components The main source of income for most beginner and veteran players. You get components by fighting and defeating heartless. Some heartless drop certain components, which are either used in quests, craft items, or for selling them in stores. Most components that are worth a price are shards/stones/gems/crystals of some sort. By collecting many shards, you can combine them into stones. By gathering many stones, you can make gems. And finally, by gathering many gems, you can make crystals. By combining shards like this, you get a final component that is worth far more then the sum of it's parts. Banks This is one of the most useful things in the game. It allows you to store away your munny, and to gain interest on it while it is in the bank. It also keeps your munny safe when you lose battles, as you won't lose munny if it's stored in the bank. Stats These decide how you perform on the battle field. What they do is as follows. Skills These are unlike stats, and do not effect how you perform on the battlefield. These are, instead, used to decide how powerful an object/spell/attack you can use, based on how high these stats are. To increase these stats, you can either use SP on them, or use an action associated with it to gain EXP in that Skill, eventually leading it to level up. AP, SP and Stats How to get started Quote:
Commonly Asked Questions Shards : 10 munny eachHow do I get munny? If you choose to scan a heartless, you may see that some drop different shards or berries. These shards, like in Kingdom Hearts, are important, but in a different way. You can combine shards together to create larger items through the Inventory menu and clicking to components. Selling shards is the only way to make munny in this game besides a small amount gained by defeating heartless and bosses. Larger and rarer components grant you more munny. In general, the list follows thusly: Stones: 110 munny each (10 shards required to make one stone) Gems: 600 munny each (5 stones required to make one gem) Crystal: 2000 munny each (3 gems required to make one crystal) How Do I Complete ____ Quest?/How Do I Advance to the Next World? You most commonly must defeat a boss in each world before you are allowed to advance to the next world. If you get stuck somewhere, talk to the NPCs! Most of them have very useful information, or may even give you quests you can complete for rare items! Don't just run through the world, take your time and explore each section, scan each enemy! You never know what you'll find that will help you along your quest. If a boss is too strong for you, think about WHY that boss is too strong. Think about ways you can counter them and swing the battle in your favor. Allocate your AP wisely and train your spells! Sometimes a strong Protect spell helps more than a sturdy piece of armor.

For newbies who read this: 10 simple steps to a good beginning: 1: Head to Gigas Hall 2: Buy a shortsword or two and an armor, head to equipment, and equip them. 3: Go to Malus Hall 4: Get a bank account and put the rest of your money in it 5: Talk to Donald 6: Mention the Heartless, then the link to the cellar will become available 7: Click the link and you'll be in the cellar. 8: See the Shadow? Click hunt. Heaven or Hell, Duel 1, LETS ROCK!! 9: Fight till you get a Gate Pass 10: Go back to where you started and talk to Shamdeo, the NPC, and show him the gate pass.
