◆ How to get your avatar to appear on the Inferno.

So, I've noticed that some ( actually a lot ) of you brodudes playing have tried to upload avatars and only have a blank box appear in game. Here's how you can get yours to appear correctly:

1: You will need to upload your avatar to an image hosting site; rather than uploading it directly to the server from your computer. This is because the engine will attempt to draw the avatars from the forums' server instead of the Inferno's server where they've actually been uploaded, an issue I'll be looking into the next couple of days/weeks.

Great image hosting sites are:

ImageShack® - Image Hosting
TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting
Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket

2: After you've obtained the image URL from the hosting website, paste it into the input box "RPG Avatar - Enter Custom URL" section. This can be found in the "Edit RPG Profile" section of the Settings menu where you first made your character.

3: Hit "Modify Your RPG Profile", and the screen will refresh.

4: At this point you have inputted the image URL into the settings, but you more than likely won't be able to see anything uploaded. The reason for this? We need to set the demensions of the avatar. From the link that you were given from the image hosting website, right click on the image and select "Properties".

5: In the window, you will be given the dimensions of your avatar ( 50 x 50 is 50 pixels by 50 pixels ). In the Settings screen use the two drop downs to set the dimensions of the height and width of your avatar. Make sure to use the exact number of pixels so that your image does not appear stretched.

6: Hit "Modify Your RPG Profile" again to save your progress.

If you are using one of the preset avatars on the Inferno under "RPG Avatar - Gallery", right click and copy the URL that appears and copy and paste it unto the line that asks for a URL for your avatar. Replace forums.khinsider.com with inferno.khinsider.com and it will appear after you set the dimensions.

And there you have it.

Or you could just right click the image, select copy image URL, and paste it.

And then you'll need to remember to set the dimensions properly. :\

Also, some sites disable hotlinking.

Well he loves us too much to just run off and never return. :3 Shammy's a nice guy. Wants to help his friends out with this. Plus, he has access to the Inferno server, so he's the only one who can fix uber broken things that can't be fixed through use of the ACP.

I've set up everything alright, but I can't see my avatar. I can see the avatars of others, but not my own.

Any ideas as to the problem?

The gallery avatars are uploaded on the inferno server, yet the player avatars seem to draw from the forums server. That's why.
