| Ruler of Darkness | ((Hi, sorry, I was moving furnature all day.)) Small beeps and flickering lights permeated the endless banks of computer equipment that lined the walls of the small room. Although the sign on the door read Dormatory; T. Morgan; SG-E Science it would be impossible to tell that anyone slept there. In fact, that was usually true. The occupant liked her computer equipment almost as much as she liked coffee, and the combination of the two was lethal to her sleep patterns. Especially now that she was at Star Gate command. The springs of her chairs groaned like an overdriving car as she leaned back, remembering the day. It had been sunny, she remembered that. A dark van had pulled up in front of her as she emerged from her appartment. The green-clad figure that stepped out was clearly millitary, from his close cropped hair to the aviator sunglasses that obscured his eyes. "Tara Morgan."He'd said, and it hadn't been a question. "S. Halbert of the US millitary. We've a proposition for you as a researcher if you'll follow me..." and he'd practically yanked her into the van. Everything after that had been a blur but she'd ended up as the key science officer for the new branch of Stargate units. The monitor in front of her blinked to signal that the program that she was running had been completed. She ran her hands fondly over the cold chrome curve of her keyboard. Some would say that she'd become too attatched to her machines. Most of them weren't regulation and at least a third were illeagal. Somehow, however, she'd gotten them in and set them up without detection. They were really her only companions, the only thing keeping her here... As if to disprove her, there came a sharp knock on the door. She only barely had time to throw a cloth over some of the more illeagal pieces of machinery before the knock was followed by an annonymously dressed millitary underling. "The General sends his summons. He says the rest of your team is assembling..." he paused then, as if wondering weather or not to add a 'sir' to his message. Tara didn't give him a chance, however. She blew by him into the hallway and hurried up, anxious to meet the rest of her team. ((OOC- how was that?)) |

Normally I use google's spellingcheck ... but I'm on a different comp now )) James had finally reached the iron door leading to a specially created conference room. But a few minutes ago, General Hammond ordered that room to be fully equipped for the next meeting ,seeing as SG-1 is currently occupieing the regular room. James gave a few short but powerfull knocks on the door indicating his arrival and a soldier opened the door greeting him with an immediate: "Weve been expecting you sir, welcome." THe soldier was young, agile and quick ... where did the time go, James wondered, that he was like that. A few people were already inside, but the people of SG-E werent there yet. Hammond was already sitting at the table, which looked surprisingly alot like the one in the regular room. The chairs were clearly different, more modern if you might say and the walls were all covered in photos and posters created by and from the material gathered for the next expedition. On the table layed a booklet of paper at each chair and James had guessed that it were booklets about everything up until now. Hammond stood up and surprisinly saluted James. "Back at ya." The Major thought and he saluted aswell. "Why saluting me sir. I'm supposed to salute you." "It's the least I could do Major." And there they bought sat waiting for the others, talking about everything and nothing in the meantime. |

| A Legend Returned | James Adams was sat in his seat as the standard military jeep rolled into the SG-C. It pulled up in a gargae and Jams got out. As he stepped out he was immediatley greeted by a soldier. James saluted and waited for his instructions. "Leiutenant Adams welcome. I know this is quite quick but your breifing is starting very shortly. If you'll follow me please." James' bag was taken and he followed the soldier into a few corridors and then into a lift. James looked as the lift went down from level G to level 30. james wasn't sure what ws going on, all he knew was that he had accepted the position as it could lead to "great things", or so he was told by the British Ambassador. As the lift stopped he walked out and followed the soldier to a large breifing room. This is where the soldier stopped and motioned james to go. Inside was a General and a Major, both American. They both stood up and wlcomed James. James responded by saluting, "Leuitenant James Adams reporting for duty sir." |

| Ruler of Darkness | ((Sounds like a plan.)) Tara had quickly lost the recruit that had been sent to escort her from her quarters, but it didn't matter. She knew where this meeting was going to be held, she'd been waiting impatiently for it for over a week. She blew down the nearly empty corridors gradually climbing from the bowls of the complex, where her dorimitory was located, towards the higher, bussier levels. Resisting the urge to investigate every piece of machinery and computer console she passed, she made it to the conference room without much trouble, but didn't enter. She closed her eyes leaned against the cold metal wall beside the door. After she entered that room, she knew that she couldn't go back to living as she once had, but this was a chance to be a part of something that transcended her, that transcended her world, even. Standing up straight, she smoothed her cloths and hair, athough she wasn't quite sure why she did this, and reached out to grasp the spun-steel door handle. Taking a deep breath, she wrenched it open and swung inside. "Er... hi." she said, fiddling with the ties on her pockets, but then remembered the couple of papers she'd read on millitary behavior. "Er, I mean, hello, SIR!" she corrected, obviously very unsure of herself, as she saluted the General and another man she recognized from the information she'd been given as J. Winters. "Tara Morgan, reporting...?" she offered, hoping it was correct. |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | The mess hall was half full - or half empty, whichever you prefer - soliders laughed at jokes, told a few stories of their family, and all in all had a good tiime. Usually, everybody talked and socialised on their lunch break. However, one lone Jaffa sat in a corner of the incredibly plain mess hall, on an equally boring table - a table just like every other in the room. Crai'ak, preferred silence - that's why he was sitting on a solitary table in the corner of the mess hall - but the painfully plain dullness of the mess hall (and the rest of the base), was somewhat depressing. But nontheless, he could live with it. Anything is better than the Goa'uld, he kept telling himself. And in truth, this was far better. He had gained a certain respect for the Tau'ri, and he had earned the repesct as well - the ones he met anyway. Crai'ak reached for his glass, and downed it's contents. He stared into his empty plate, in deep thought. However, he was interrupted yet again, by the same solider as before. "Umm..." he began. "I am ready," said Crai'ak, finishing the soldier's sentence. "Take me to the Briefing Room." Crai'ak followed the intimidated solider, while holding his hands behind his back. He passed more people - some wearing the same uniform as he, and others wearing long white jackets. Some of them were wearing suits, which Crai'ak found interesting. Eventually, they reached the Briefing Room. "Here you are, sir," the soldier maganed to say, while opening the door. "Thank you." Crai'ak bowed his head to the solider, and entered the room. There were four people inside - none of the looked familar. Nontheless, he gave them a polite bow with his head. ((I think that was better.)) |

| Fo shizzle o.0;; | ((MUUUUUCH better ... I'll begin the meeting then.)) "Welcome to you all." General Hammond said. he then stood up and saluted once more but this time directing it to all. He then stiffened the Yankees cap he pulled out of his uniform and he placed upon his shiny, bald head. "I have a fishing appointment with General O'Neill. You are already cleared to go. Major Winters will be in charge for the take-off and the remainder of the mission. God Speed and godly luck to you all." And with that, General Hammond left. When the door closed quite hard after Hammond, James stood up and headed to the part of the room where all the data lay. James then first greeted everybody, and a little wink was added for Tara telling her that it was O.K. and the meeting was started. "Goodday ... although it's mighty stormy outside ... never the less, welcome. Before you lies the detailed rapport made by Daniel Jackson. But I'll try to keep it briefer than him." With this he added a small cough and his tone of voice carried a little irritation becouse he was sick of that Detailed act of the more scientific people. "3 Years ago, a new Stargate Chevron was discovered and if added to the gate, it becomes a way to travel to a new Galaxy which we liked to call: Tartarus. The Tartarus Galaxy lies even beyond Atlantis and therefore our base will be there. A Stargate has been retrieved from an abandonned world and, after reconfiguring the adress which was luckily untaken, we placed that Gate at the spare dial system of Atlantis. We have 8 ZPM's to our personal disposal there so it is unlikely that we will be of any burden there." James now sat down in a chair and he gave them the time to ask a few questions if needed ... Not that he would have a smart answer for them but he still was kind enough to do just that. |

| Ruler of Darkness | Tara smiled weakly at Winters, silently thanking him. Letting out her breath in a sigh, she sank down into her seat, pulled her feet up onto her chair in front of her and began leafing through the packet of information. Her trained mind took it all in gladly. She ran her fingers over the precise diagrams and charts, chewing slightly on her lip. They transfered a general knowledge of the subject, but she was still insatiably curious. "Whoever this Jackson fellow is, he certainly knows how to write a report..." she muttered to herself, marveling at the perfect scientific detail that had been put in. "Do we know what sort of planet the stargate is on?" she asked from behind the packet, "I mean, I know it's uninhabited, but what's to be found in terms of atmostphere and plant life? Furthermore, what do we know about the surrounding systems? Are they uninhabited as well? What condition is the sun, or suns, of that system in?" she caught herself, putting a hand over her mouth to stop the flow of innane question. "Er, you can answer one at a time... if we know that sort of thing yet... although I suppose it's our job to find that out, right?" she added appologetically, peaking over the top of the papers in her hands. |

| Fo shizzle o.0;; | ((... Euhm .... NeoRiku .... That can't be done, sorry ... :D First read the rules & guidelines again and then come up with a new character. BECOUSE: Colonel outranks Major. Jack O'Neill is now a general and is no longer at SG command ((for as far as I know because over here Jack is still a colonel)) And I wanna go there with all new characters like in Atlantis)) James smacked himself in the head, knowing he said something wrong earlier. He then looked at Tara with a face that just begged for forgiveness. "O ... I must have phrased that wrong that earlier. Our base would be Atlantis. But it will be in a to us designated area somewhere in Atlantis. And thats all we know about our mission worlds so far. Our first away mission will be made by Puddle Jumper. Any other questions." James then said quickly ... Looking at the others hoping that Tara would not ask something more. Sweatdrops already started to fall from his head and he quickly swiped them off. He was kinda new to the Briefing thing so he was Extremely nervous. ((Sorry for the short post)) |

| Fo shizzle o.0;; | ((Yay ^.^ Okay, Time to prepare for liftoff.)) James then stood up and walked to the door. He pressed the palm of his hand against the door, preparing to open it and also wiping the sweat off at te same time. He looked around the room, at his new teammates and he said the final words of this meeting. "We leave tomorrow. We wil be the official Easy-team that goes together with a entire group now called: Easy-companie. We will be placed with the burden of always going as first through the Stargate. And we are also in charge of what we represent. Meaning that I will be in charge with all military stuff and Tara will be in charge for all things scientific and ...." And after a few seconds of trying to find another expensive word: "Stuff. Finish up any lose ends here on Earth and I'll see you all tomorrow." James then pshed open the door and walked to his dormitory using the stairs ... meaning that that was something he'd be doing for the next hour or so. |

| Ruler of Darkness | A minute after he left, Tara picked up the packet of information on the table, waved to the other members of the team, and followed Winters out the door, intent on spending her last hours on earth with her computers. She ran her hands along the panelled walls as she trudged slowly down the service stairwell. Here eyes didn't see the walls around her, however, as her mind was some place else. She was having seccond thoughts about joining SG-E. Sure, the team seemed nice enough, but each and every one of them was unmistakably millitary. She absentmindedly fingered the empty holister at her side, a reminder of how different she was from them. Everyone else had been selected from some elite division of one military or another, and she... had been picked up off the street? Why? She'd been studying inter-galactic astronomy, yes. She'd even been able to find out a little bit about the Stargates through one source or another, but surely there was somone else better suited to the job? Her thoughts were interupted as was her step as she collided with someone on the landing right in front of her. She tripped, landing hard on the cold tiled floor. The papers flew out of her hands and all over the floor. She looked up in shock, "Sorry, sir!" she mumbled, hurrying around on the floor to pick up the papers, inwardly cursing herself for not paying attention... "Won't happen again..." ((Sorry about that. I was bored just writing about her walking... and thinking....)) |
