Eternal Winter of the Ice Snake

Often, in faerie tales or epic legends, there is a hero who is not so strong in strength or speed or wit, but has the strongest heart of them all. And often, there is one who is strong in strength and speed and wit, but has a weak heart. Which one are you?

I am the True Dragon. The only Dragon there is meant to be. Othane created Armageddo Rath — the Fire Dragon — and he was meant to be the Second God. He was meant to be the Ultima. But no. I, an Ice Snake, has brung him to his death. Killed in his sleep. I devoured him. Now I, Anglo Xavier the Ice Dragon, will be the Second God. And I will bring the world an Eternal Winter. One they will never forget; one they will see until the day they die.

I use to be no more than a peasant, living among a family of six. My mother, my father, two brothers and two sisters. A famine swept across our land. We had to find new ground to farm on. During the journey, a horde of demons killed them all. I survived. Somewhere along the way of my wondering, I met the Sand Man. He turned me into an Ice Snake. Blippo, the Sand Man’s imp, opened me to a whole new world. Only the Fire Dragon can defeat me. But the Fire Dragon is dead.

These are the ideas that your character is based on. For example, the tricky magician may as well be a magician, or the professor may be an intelligent scholar of some sort.

And the six must travel to the Ice Dragon’s Lair and defeat him, thus ending the Eternal, and ever worsening Winter. But the Ice Dragon has heard of your approach. Because, little do you know, that two people in your group beholds the blood of the legendary Fire Dragon. (PM me to be a Fire Dragon.)

Two characters you might want to hear about before you begin your journey:
Tate Wraith – A child whom travels among you. She seems innocent and void of all evil, but can you really trust her?
Anglo Xavier – A boy whom was turned into an Ice Snake by the Sand Man and his apprentice Blippo the Imp. After killing and eating the Fire Dragon, he turned himself into the Ice Dragon he is today. His goal is killing the two that hold Fire Dragon blood. If he does this, he will be unstoppable.
Armageddo Rath – Armageddo Rath was never human like Anglo, but he could take human form. He, in his human form, fell in love with a human—thus breeding the two with Fire Dragon blood. He died soon after, being killed by Anglo Xavier.

Bio: Rage's past was unkown. All that is known is that he was a very good friend to the Fire Dragon. When his children where born the Fire Dragon asked him to watch over his children as a gaurdian. When the Fire Dragon died he watched over the children as he promised to him.

Personality: A young boy with a --not entirely two faced -- but complex personality. He appears head strong, stubborn, and hot headed, but at times he shows sudden weakness. There is more to him than meets the eye.

Bio: He knows little about his past. He grew up in a small, isolated town -- known to people and the troublemaker. He had no parents, and is incredibly sensitive when people talk about family or ask him about his parents. He believes that one day he will find them -- that they are perhaps just across the sea waiting for him to come back.

Bio: The son of a great magician known as Dawn LoneStar. His father seeing the evil of the woman he loved took his newborn son and hid him from evil. Growing up among the highest order of elven mages taught him a great deal of inner peace and patience. When he came of age he was allowed to travel the world undercover and study with those sorcerers and mages who fought for justice and even those who were not wholly good. Soon his life's quest was upon him and he was forced into confrantion with his mother. Their battle was terrible. Lasting for how long no one knew, but when it was over Rayner stepped from the realms of magic. His body seemed aged beyond its years but his mind and heart were finally free of a great burden. Now he travels the world seeking adventure.

Appearance: Long, grey hair tied back into a ponytail. He also has a long grey beard. He wears a red and blue robe which is actually too big for him. But he dosn't mind. He wears brown sandals, which nobody can see behind the robe, same with the black shirt he wears. He has brown eyes.

Personality: Smart, and gullible. Loves reading and always wants to be right. And he is NOT scared of hitting people with the walking stick. Beware! If someone disagrees with him, he goes absolutely mad. (Sometimes it ends up with him swinging his stick around like a crazed lunatic).

Hello, name's Sruthear ... Here's my life story:

Life started pretty peacefully, as I was born in a respected family out in the middle of nowhere. Well, actually it was next to a forest called ... Gah! I forgot! Anyways, we had a happy life; fishing for ... Uh .. Fish. The fish was delicious, I say! So juicy ... Oops, getting carried away there. Where was I? Oh, yes ... All the women loved m-- What? I shouldn't be talking about that? Ugh .. Fine. Well, when I reached the age of 20 the village was burned down by angry, bloodthirsty demons! Evil, little buggers they are! Didn't have a care in the world about who gets hurt. Me and my father fought them off, while my mother and the women ... And children ran for cover. My father collapsed after heavy fighting, he was stuck down. His head rolled across the floor ... Which was when I earned my adrenaline. BANG! I charge at them like a wild pig swinging my sword, striking them down to hell.

We were overrun a few moments afterwards, forcing us to give way. So .. We ran. Ran into the forest. And, like all demons do, they chased us. Fortunately, they lost us quickly ... We were safe. Now it was only me and my mother alive. I gave up with swords after that incident. They only caused pain, no matter who you hit them with. I dropped my sword into a spring, and I turned away and left it there.

The rest of my life was good, with no demons. And I continued fishing ... And I was still lo-- Oops, going off track there again. During that time, I spent a lot of my time at the library studying the history of our world. Of the races of our world, the artifacts, the magic. It go me pretty interested, it did ... I spent my time in a book nearly 'all' day. Which is what I still do now ...

Personality: Quiet, mysterious, rough, impractical. Most of the time she daydreams, and there is always something hidden with in her eyes — a secret. She is very mature for her young age.

Bio: Tate Wraith was a peasant, just like Konrad, but was born, blessed by an angel, with strange powers. She loves her parents more like anything, and would never part from them if it was in her choice. So, who would she travel with everyone else to the Ice Dragon if it meant departing from her mother and father? What luck will she bring on the team? It’s time to figure it out. She’ll show you, at the end of the road.

Winter was cold. Winter was merciless. Winter was, from now on . . . forever. And it would never cease until someone did something about it. The High Mountains, up in the South of the lands, was becoming so cold that it was hard for a human to survive there for more than a day, even with food and water and fire. Yet, Konrad found that he could survive five whole days, with both a wound in his upper left arm and a few frozen sandwiches. What was it that made him survive?

"Damn Xavier," he muttered. He sat on a cliff, covered with snow. His face had some ice particles on it. Konrad clenched his fist, and they melted away. What WAS it that gave him this power? He lulled his head forward. He was getting tired.

Konrad had been sent here, along with 3 others to search for survivors, for the South use to be hot and full of life. Now it was so cold. The other three he had travelled with were dead now.

He stood up slowly and started walking back. No survivors. Not one. All because of Xavier and his Eternal Winter. The Fire Dragon was dead -- long dead. Nothing could be done about that. No one could stop Xavier except for Rath, and he was dead.

"Hello," someone said. It was a high voice -- a young girl's voice.

Konrad turned around. He saw the little girl -- a youth with long curly ash blonde hair and two large violet eyes. She smiled at him. Something about that smile sent a shiver up his spine. "Who are you?" he asked, taking out his pocket knife.

"Tate Wraith," she said, bowing. "I am Tate Wraith." Konrad noticed a strange aura floating around her. "Will you take me back with you? I am sort of lost."

Konrad growled at her. "What are you?" he snapped. "How can you survive?!"

Tate placed a hand on her heart. "I am special, like you. I use my powers to protect myself from the cold. And like you, my powers have my limits. Please take me back with you." She fluttered her big eyes.

Konrad growled again, this time in annoyance. "Fine then." He kneeled down.

Without hesitation, Tate jumped upon his back. He started to walk back home.

OOC: No Yuna, Dawn LoneStar is his mother's name, not his father's. His father took him and left him with the elves.


Rayner smiled at a large dragon burst into a cloud of butterflies. The butterflies formed an intricate pattern in the air leaving a trace of prismatic dust in their wake. The crowd of villagers cried in awe at the spectacle. Rayner smiled at the cries of adulation as his butterflies burst into a shower of light signaling the end of his show. Making a slight bow he stepped down from his makeshift platform. The crowd around him began to disperse some villagers leaving a small amount of money for the show. This was how Rayner lived his traveling lifestyle. A small show or two in every village paid for food and spell ingredients. As for a place to stay well many inn keepers put him up free for the night in exchange for a crowded bar full of people anxious to see the Rayner the Resplendent.

Several young children approached anxious for one of his fairy tales.
"You'll have to wait until to night my young friends. I am indisposed at the moment. Now run along."


He smiled as the children shook their heads in disappointment and ran off towards some young mischief. He turned and shook his head. This village was one of the few where children still played freely but even here the air was frigid. Soon he would have to confront the cause of this everlasting cold. But not now. He wasn't ready for the challenge.

Soon though....Very soon. He thought to himself.

Konrad sat inside a large house. Random news had reached him. More and more people from other villages were coming to his town -- the Town of the Prancing Horse. A magician was performing in his town. It was exactly what everyone needed; something entertaining to take their minds off the horror that lurked near. Sooner of later, the Village of the Prancing Horse would freeze over too, just like the South lands. He sat across the table from the Town's Mayor. The mysterious little girl to claimed to be Tate Wraith sat under the table, near his legs.

"What did you see?" he asked. The Mayor was standing up. Konrad held a strangely solid face.

Konrad coughed. "Snow. White. I couldn't see anything, sir. But I managed to rescue this little girl. She was the only survivor."

The Mayor sat down, to be surprised by a loud farting noise. Konrad burst into giggles, falling off his chair and rolling on the floor, clutching his stomach. Tate stared at him oddly, then started doing the same thing. Weird little girl, she was.

"Konrad, son, you're too young for your own good." The Mayor threw the whoopie cushion out the window and sat down again. "So, were YOU the one who put the wooden spiders under my blanket."

Konrad redeemed himself, sitting back on the chair. "Erm, yes sir."

"Where are the other three I sent with you?" he asked.

"No good, sir. They all died of the cold."

"Why aren't you dead?"

"I don't know, sir."

The Mayor shook his head and sighed. His shoulders slumped. "The Eternal Winter is catching on to the Pranching Horse, sonny. Light snow fall comes in the night. I've seen it. Everyone has noticed it, yet no one has said a thing. They'll be leaving my beautiful town if it gets too bad."

Konrad twiddled his thumbs in a careless way. "So what? I'll save everyone from Anglo Xavier."

The Mayor tried his best, but he burst out laughing. "You, boy? Defeat the Great Ice Dragon? Don't dream. Let professionals handle the job."

Tate pulled on Konrad's shirt. "Konrad," she said in a whingy voice. "I need to go to the bathroom."

"Alright then. Let's go before you dirty your dress."

Konrad sat against the door, on the ground, twiddling his thumbs. He was looking at a roll of toilet paper on the ground. Tate sat on the toilet, humming happily to herself.

"Hey Konrad?"

"Yeah?"

"Why do you want to kill the Ice Dragon?" Tate leaned over, twiddling her thumbs like him. "I mean, isn't it dangerous? You've seen what it can do."

Konrad sighed, then turned to Tate. "Because I want people to respect me. Since I'm an orphan, no one respects me. No one will take even a second look at me. They ignore me, and when they're talking to me they're either scolding me for something I've done or for something I didn't do well enough. I wanna show them I can do things, you know." He looked away from her, frowning. There was like a big hole in his heart now.

"Oh," Tate replied. "I might be able to help you."

"Really? What good can you do?"

"I know where Xavier's Lair is."

Rage over heard Konrad talking to Tate while he stood above him looking down."Well I guess this is a better time than ever to give it to him. Rage took a sword from a bag that he had with him. He attached the note to the sword. He took the sword and threw it at the wall sticking it into the wall. He looked at him and quickly walked away. The note read as the following:
