Gone? Well, even with the Ark and the firing of the Halo's, there's always the possibility of a spore in suspended animation in some forerunner (or precursor facility) being inadvertedly unleashed, causing an instant outbreak. Given the forerunner's extensive study of the flood, they seem to have developed a habit of leaving specimens on ice in almost all their facilities. Halo, Delta Halo, The Ark, the Shield-world from Halo Wars, even that dilapidated atmostheric facility the Heretic covenant used as a base. I don't mind making a new race, though, if you'd prefer to exclude them.

All of Forerunner space has been ridden of the Flood. With a parasite that dangerous, people can and will do a lot over three hundred years to obliterate it. It's not that they're aren't there because I'd prefer it that way, they aren't there because that's the logical thing they do.

Good point. Well it seems kinda pointless to create a whole new race, on second thought, so I'll just do up a profile instead.
