Under a canopy of sky in a gradient of blue. Under a canopy of black and white silhouette skyscrapers.
The crowds line the streets, clogging the sidewalks.

As they walk... as they stand...
Voices echo in the air. Like that crimson, mellifluous liquid dropping into clear glass, swirling and curling. Words swirling with the wind into the air; never could you ignore such a thing.

Yet, everything about them is blank. Thousands of maquettes lining and clogging the streets. None of them walking, all of them wooden and hollow.

Those voices never cease. A tape player playing an infinite tune of nerve-wreaking static.

Yet... out of the corner of your eye... you see someone. Petite and smiling. They have your hair colour, your skin colour, your eye color...
Could it be?
Could that really be you?

What would occur if you followed them, tangled in their mischievous game of hide-and-seek?
Would their laughter grate in your ears, driving to screaming? Would you throw your hands around their neck... and find that same pressure around your own?

Would you care?

Of course you wouldn't. That's the point of this place:

"Melt" is the name of this place.
Where those craved by troubled pasts are sent into a meltdown, driven mad by your younger self taunting you through the streets and alleys. Find them, choke them so maybe they'll halt that grating laughter... and find the same red mark of hands around your own neck.
A fun game created by a sadist who wants nothing more than to watch you fall apart.

Will you fight to escape? Or will you take the knife in your pocket and watch crimson liquid slap on the ground?

I was right. >:\ Creepy stuff does show up a lot in the stuff I write and draw and blahblahblah... yeahhh.

This plot was written while I was listening a Vocaloid song called "Meltdown". It's an AWESOME song and it certainly inspired this plot: someone grabbing their younger self's throat and a 'meltdown'. While there aren't missions and such everyday in this, this is also in a similar vein as Subarashiki Kono Sekai or TWEWY or whatever you want to call it.

So this isn't just a few things and trying to go against a sadistic guy... this may have horror stuff in it. I dunno yet, but if the people in Melt fight back, there might be horror stuff as a way to scare them from fighting. It's all up to the person who plays the bad guy, though. :D

ALSOALSOALSO! And this is important: this roleplay may close at any point during the registration because of my school work or because of lack of interest. School work is my priority right now and I'm trying to deal with time management stuff so I can do more everyday. You're probably going 'NAN DESU KA >__>' (or, in english, 'WHAT THE CRAP.'), but... yeah. If I get busy, then I will close this. Buuuuut since I should be done with school work by the end of next month (iwanttoplaydayswithoutworryingaboutgeometry;0;)... if I have to close this, then I'll open it right after I'm done with school work. ...and after KHDays comes out. .-. So just because it closes doesn't mean it won't reopen. However, if people don't really join or if I don't know if this RP will be that exciting, then I'll close it. I just thought I'd warn everyone first. xD;

o2. Godmodding or powerplaying is not tolerated! GM and PP three times and I WILL kick you out of the roleplay. Not to be strict, but UGHHHH. THEY'RE ICKY. >:
o3. Romance is fine, but please keep it PG-13! Anything besides non-icky kissing and hugging means you will be kicked out IMMEDIATELY, no questions asked.
o4. Please don't have a mary-sue/gary-stu character. Mary-sues/Gary-stus are perfect characters and roleplaying them can be incredibly boring. Give your characters flaws!
o5. Please be active! I only ask that you post two to three times per week. If you're going to be out of town for even a week or won't be able to get on the computer, PLEASE post in this thread and let everyone know. You can also give your character(s) to another person to play until you get back.

o7. In regards to magical powers and weapons... you shouldn't have any. In Melt, you get a knife. That's it. Your character should be a normal person. (unless you're a bad guy, then you can have some sort of magic powers, I guess...) This is NOT a fantasy, so please don't have anything like that.

メルト - MELT ;

"Melt" is a city that's very plain in appearance. The sky is a plain sky blue that gradients in a darker blue. The buildings are generic buildings and skyscrapers dyed black with white outlines. (think the cover illustration for TWEWY) Outside of the hub of the city are just labyrinths of alleyways with a grey sky hovering overhead.

Those trapped in Melt are simply known as 'The Trapped'. They each have a number and the antagonists don't refer to them by their names. Example? One bad guy is talking to one of the trapped and they would refer to them as 'Trapped 001' or whatever number they are. There is a barcode and their number printed on the side of their wrist. The Sadistics can scan this barcode and find out everything about that Trapped. Those referred to as "The Trapped" must have a troubled past of some sort or else there wouldn't be a reason for them to be in Melt.

The antagonists are referred to as 'kokoro'. In Japanese, that basically means heart or mind. They are the heart of Melt and the reason why the Trapped are there. 'Kokoro' also seems like a happy or good word, a complete contrast to what they really are. They can also be derogatorily referred to as 'Sadistics'. The name of kokoro's leader is only known as "the silhouette" (or "silhouette"), a name made up because of seeing shadows on the walls and wondering if those shadows trace behind whomever is behind all of this.

to those trapped ;

Despite the fact that there's a LOT of Japanese used in this thread and there will probably be references to Japanese culture in the roleplay itself, your character does NOT have to be of Japanese descent. They can be any nationality! It definitely doesn't matter. :D This goes for antagonists, too.

sadistic ;

The villain is a sadistic person who wants nothing more than to watch the people trapped in Melt suffer by seeing their past and trying to fight it, not ignore it and move on. Everything about the villain is up to the person who claims the spot and creates the bad guy, but you have to have the following things with your character: they must be sadistic (of course), they must have some sort of connection to the Japanese language (AKA they learned it or have an interest in Japanese language) or must be from Japan or else the whole メルト thing won't make sense, and they can have magic powers. Melt is a bit magic itself, probably connected to the bad guy. Everything else, however, is up to you.

Alsoalso, if you guys want: there can be something like the Reapers to make sure those trapped in Melt actually find their younger selves. If they don't, then those bad guys, who work for this sadistic guy, can attack whomever didn't try to choke or fight their younger self.

Momiki has never been a noticable person within a crowd. With her height only being that of 5,5 ft she is quite short for her age. If it weren't for her features she would swear that people would look right past her...in Japan, it is quite normal to see tourists but to see a foreign Japanese in the streets of her village is quite a event. Her mother came from Europe, England. A young woman studying abroad. Her father japanese from Kyoto. Making quite a different appearence of the darkest brownest eyes, which in the slightest dark lighting look completely black. Her mothers light blonde hair falling to her waist.
Personality:
Momiki never smiled as much as the other girls in her village and if spoken to she would merely reply with such attitude it would drive the others away. While being teased she was quite violent. Overall, she is quite a troubled child in the eyes of parents. While looking small and quite sweet, Her attitude is vicious.
Bio:
Her mother was quite a smart woman, she had gone to the best university within England to later transfer to Tokyo. Despite all the things she could do, she wanted to teach the Japanese Children English and about her coulture. Her father did not go to school at that time, so in such a way it would seem almost impossible for them to meet if it weren't for the fact that she had been teaching his younger brother. Later that year, it would seem that his brother had not been behaving the best in her class, her father having to go to his school to speak to her mother. It was that moment that they met. After that moment they met many times.

Five years later she was born, A young child of hope who was much loved by many. They moved to her village at age two. For some time, she was fine. It wasn't till she was the age of eleven that the incident accured. Her house going up in flames. Her father and mother both dying infront of hers as the flames overtook. Now, she never mentions her past nor her fear of fire. Lately, for some odd reason though, the world just seems it won't let it go...

• Take, for example; a looming house at the end of a long drive, painted custard yellow. Freshly polished windows are shuttered by black panels. A pool in the back, encompassed by a stone wall. An arraignment of pine trees, seven years old, branches pruned awkwardly by unsteady hands on a hot summer's day. An uneasy quiet has been lain over this house like a smothering blanket, the inhabitants beneath it, seeking warmth, now perspiring, squirming, running out of air. Enter - the door is unlocked, there is nothing to bar your way. Beneath, in the finished basement, awash in sodium light, a boy floats between his homework and the plasma television. He tries to focus on the nice things he has - the nice things his father bought him - but something is wrong. Something is always wrong; nothing good ever came from the night, for riding on the heel's of darkness is that terrible, unforgivable monster. Appearance:

• Tora stands at about 5'6' with neck length aqua blue hair with black stripes starting from the forehead. He wears an orange beanie over his hair, along with an orange unzipped unsleeve hoodie with black arrows all over it. Underneath is a black T-shirt with the words "Skillz" across it in turqoise colored graffiti. He wears black jeans with orange lightning symbols emblazoned across it. Multiple chains hang out of his left pocket, along with bandaids covering his index and that one finger that's in between the pinky and middle fingers of his left hand, and an orange fingerless glove on his right hand. He also wears a necklace around his neck(duh) of a turqoise stone. He also has turqoise colored eyes. His shoes are orange and black (but were originally white). And he has a belt with an orange zigzag pattern around it. He has caramel colored skin and is of many mixed races.
• Tora's younger version consists of basically the same thing. The orange beanie is still there, although the hair is much shorter. The hoodie is lost, revealing just the shirt with the words Skillz on it in plain crayon with pretty much every letter written backwards. He also wears orange shorts with black stripes and white shoes. The necklace is still there where as the gloves and bandaids are not there, there is a black wrist band around his right wrist. Only one chain hangs out of his pocket and there is a bandaid across his nose.

Personality:

• Tora is a very outspoken but sometimes brooding and sarcastic teenager. Usually angsty, but that's only because he says what's on his mind a lot. He tries being nice and freindly, and succeeds mostly with no effort, though he harbors a harsh nature only because of his past. He mainly tries to stay posotive, not optomisitc but tries to look at things on a posotive side, and has a deep passion for art and graffiti, spraying his own shoes and designing his shirt. He also has a passion for writing music and plans to be famous one day.

Bio:

• Tora's real name isnt Tora. That's the name of the family dog. But Tora's been hearing that pretty much all his life, he's forgotten his real name. Not wanting to be breanded he saw his talent for art and decided to rename himself 'Skillz'. Also he noticed that people began calling him 'Qoise' because of his turqoise eyes. When he was younger his mother left at a very early age feeling that she and his father weren't getting along too well and for the betterment of the child he should stay with his abusive, alcholic father. So for years the faher even forgot his name and called him 'Inu' for the longest time. When he requested for somethign different, the man moved on to Tora. Tora's father wasn't a very good one, neglecting his son on usually all aspects, claiming he wasn't planned or wanted he felt he didn't have to care anymore. When Tora was sick, he had to sneak and get medicine for himself, build up his own dreams for himself, and teach himself how to be a man through trial and error. Lots of beatings from his fathers side and a refusal of letting him talk to his mother. By the time he got the chance, her last words were "You were a mistake." The next time he saw his mother, it was at her open casket funeral. Strung out on drugs and gunned down. But one thing still remained the same. No matter how many dreams Tora built up, they always spat it back in his face, crushing them ruthlessly. Tora has learned to deal with them and still find it in his heart to love them, but does not respect them on any circumstance.

I'm sort of lost with the plot but I think that I will get it when we get more into the roleplay. Are we seeing our self as children and getting killed off and trying to find out why? I'm a loser. Lol.

Basically within this labyrinth, Ones child self has come out, taunting them and replaying the scenes of the one thing they cannot move from. The tragic event in their life. With all this, they slowly are overcoming their fears while some grow truly insane, trying to stop the sound our their taunts to merely find anything they do to the annoying children turns out to happen to them. Get it now?

Christopher has smooth, white skin that contributes well to his handsome nature. His hair doesn't sit well and is very messy, but he intends for it to look like this. He wears glasses, only to help him read but wears them when he isn't, goes with the whole 'look' thing. He stands at around 6 feet and normally, Chris will wear just a simple jeans and top. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Christopher stands out like a swollen thumb; constantly having to be the loudest, most extravagant being inside the ever-so-big labyrinth. But, with this said, that doesn't mean he is in anyway annoying. It's just that, people.....notice him. He is what some people might call weird because he talks of things that come right off the top of his head, sometimes, this isn't such a good idea.

To sum Christopher up, people love him, people talk to him and people just want to be him.

BIO_
Christopher, from the moment he was born he was, well, different. He is still to date the one and only person to be born and raised inside Melt. It is all he knows and all he will ever know. His mother was a nice women, constantly there, the perfect 'mother' image but she couldn't handle when Chris tried to step out in the world. When he tried to get out and make friends, his mother would always be there to stop him. Lets say, it was sort of a protection from what else was out there. His father was abusive toward his mother and some memories that Chris holds up in his head are best kept inside.

The last thing he remembers about his younger years was the day his mother and father went missing, nowhere to be found. He, to this day, does not know where they are. Chris can't even remember there face. For all he knows, they could be still out there, watching him. All he knows is, his mother wouldn't, no, couldn't just leave him alone. There was something in Melt, something bad happening behind the scenes.
