Well, I was thinking of doing a Fable RP of some kind, if you're into it. If not, I've really been starting to miss those good old KH/FF-alike RP's. Melee, Simple Magic, Finishing moves, Bosses, stuff like that. Been doing way too many realistic ones lately.

I'm thinking, not KH because there is only a certain amount of ways you can do a Kindom Hearts role-play and I've seen enough. How about we do Final Fantasy but not a prelude or after any of them. Create a new simple story like most other FF's?

FF it is. We'll be needing at least a few basic elements of the FF Formula

-A hands-down awesome antagonist who's name starts with S. (Sephiroth, Seymour, Seifer...)

-Random encounter 'Canon Fodder'

Eg: Fiends in FFX. Monsters from outer space in FF8.

-An organisation or group with evil goals that maintains a facade of being the good guys. (Shinra, Yevon, whatever army that Vayne guy was commanding.)

-A main goal or quest that leads into a more complicated storyline.

(Hey, new guy, yah? Come play blitzball at luca with us, ya?)

(I gotta find Kairi and Riku!)

(Nah, it's just a regular mission, Squall, honest.)

I'm thinking we should avoid previous sources of power/summon such as Fayth, Materia, Nethecite, Junctioning GF's, Espers, ect, as each game has more or less had their own take on how the characters gain and use such powers. However, I think we should try to keep most of the core elements of the games intact: Attack, Defend, Magic, Summons, Classes, Skills, Party, ect.

Thinking that an FF7/8 kinda setting, with both technology and magic, would probably work well.

Well now, a fairly original Final Fantasy RP, I'm up for that, or at least helping work out the ideas.
Let's go.

-Well first off for the name of the main antagonist, here are a few suggestions.

Simeon
Sinjin
Slade
Solomon
Soren
Stavros
Saku
Seiko

Take note that some of these names can be either male or female, I chose these because I wanted the option of the main antagonist being a woman to be an open possibility, because that is not seen very often, as it is more challenging to make a woman more menacing then a man. Just a thought.

As for the story though, how about this. An unnamed organization is given sovereignty over the military by the ruling government of the world to not only create a peace keeping organization, but in secret to create the first type of secret service of this world. (Kinda like the CIA, just with complete power over the movements of all military branches.) They of course put up a good front, chasing down criminals and cutting down on crime, but they are also secretly killing off all those that would oppose their power, people that have done nothing but notice that they are truly evil.

After a while, the leader of this group devises a plan and overthrows the government, putting on the facade that the king and his men were all actually hurting the nation and it's people and that it had to be done for the preservation of peace. A nation without a head though is meaningless, so naturally the leader of the organization puts themselves on the throne and creates an empire. The new emperor then declares that the only reason that the other nations were friendly to them was because they had secret dealings with the old king, and implores his peoples that if they do not act swiftly that they will be swept up by their combined military might, thus single-handedly creating a world war.

Then it's the middle of the war between the super nation that is the empire, and the rest of the world. While a platoon of empire soldiers are patrolling a certain barren field they see their enemies hiding out in a cave. They storm in and kill every single one of them, and find that they were all guarding a small golden treasure chest. In their greed and curiosity they open the box, and the moment that it is open, a great light shines through, and all of the soldiers and turned to naught but stone; Pandora's Box.

After this incident, monsters that were released from the Box's clutches start popping up everywhere in the world. Mass panic and hysteria ensues, and one of the small nations is completely overrun by these creatures, and a human that has sovereignty over the other creatures with his rational thought takes control of this small nation, basically creating a hell on earth.

Then a platoon is sent out to find the one that went missing and bring them home, unfortunately all they find is their stone silhouettes, one clenching Pandora's box. They take this item and present it to the king in place of the men they had lost and he ordered one of his servants to open the box for him. As we all know the servant turns to stone, but the emperor is one that is unaffected by the rays effects, just as all the heros of the story will be. They begin using the box and it's seemingly unbridled power as a power source, becoming an even larger threat over night.

....................and since that's all I can pull out of my ass out of the moment, I'm done. So what do you think of a story like that Misanthropy, it has most of the things you yourself asked for?

I like the pandora's box idea, but the storyline seems a little too... political. Too FF12-alike. I pretty much fell asleep during every cutscene in FF12 because it was all about some politics bullshit.

I really do like that idea but I can understand where Misanthropy is coming from. I know this is hard and it's going to hurt but....do you think we could dumb it down a little? *awaits slap*

We also need a Cid. I was thinking that instead of a character named Cid it should be something else....like the organisation maybe? Something like that.
