Storyline:

187 A.C.: The year of Rebirth. That's what its called, and that might even be an accurate name. As in this year, 187 years after the crisis, the world has stopped holding is breath. Winds again blow, plants, trees, and other green slowly start to cover up the ruins of what once was. The water is clearing, the sun breaks through the darkness. Rebirth. Maybe a new world is possible.

What happened then, almost 200 years ago, isn't really of much importance anymore, and there are few people who still remember at all. Fact is, that Humanity, which was at the top of their evolution, underwent a test. They where given an enemy: Death. A human being who was superior to them in any way. The man quickly gaining followers right after his mysterious appearance, and formed the beginning of an army. He told them he would give the world a test to see who was worthy of living, and who wasn't. Who was pure enough to live in the new world he tended to create?

Humanity failed before the sight of this man.

From having everything they ever wanted or needed, not caring for what they did as they where all-powerful: They went downhill in a matter of weeks, eventually living of what was left of the pathetic world they destroyed. Survival, that was their goal. Plain and simple survival. Something they did not know how to anymore.

Eventually every single human who lived amongst the ruins has died. The last remaining people now are the ones residing in a city called Haven, the only city which was spared from the destruction.

Haven. The last city of humankind, is about to undergo another test, 187 years after the crisis. The world is regenerating. The people who fell are standing up again. And what happens if that occurs? War. People forgot the horror, forgot the pain. They have a new live in front of them, and the last they want is someone else taking it from them. On top of that, there is another thing that can destroy the world all over again: Evolution. People are changing, evolving, gaining power.

With power comes Desire. With Desire comes Pain. With Pain comes Revenge. With Revenge comes Death. With Death...comes Crisis.

A war will break loose.

Setting:

The world of Aiden: Aiden (Once called Earth, although no one remembers why it was called like that) lays in ruins. Across the globe is nothing but sheer destruction. Since about two/three years, the world has began to regenerate, slowly but surely. But the rest of the world is of less importance than the city Haven.

Haven: The last city of humankind. A rough 3 million people live here, whom are the only ones who survived the first crisis. The old parts of the city are very high-tech, but through them are build houses of stone and wood, and are streets broken apart to have a place to grow something. Why is it like that? Simple, no one remembers how to use or utilize all those high-tech stuff. The city was covered by a giant globe, keeping the environment as it should, but half of it is decayed and broken at this moment of time. An incident of a few years back.

So yeah, I want Haven to be open for you imagination as much as possible.

Groups:

Through time, groups and gangs arose amongst the people of the city. Most of them have few Evolved humans among them. There are some small gangs, but the two major factions are the groups of Embrace: SOL, and Wolf: JTD. There is a third important group named SIC, but most about them is cloaked in mystery.

SOL, Soldiers of Life: A group of people who formed to protect the city, and use their Evolution to the good of mankind. They reside in the west of the city, in an Ancient building, which they somehow got working again. They hardly know how it works, but people admire them for it, and it gives them a sense of stature. Every member, except for the Knights, wears a special kind of white garment, which distinct them from the civilians. Their leader is Embrace, a righteous man, which you don't find often anymore. Right under Embrace is a group of Evolved humans known simply as the Knights. This group fares war against the other major group: JTD.

JTD, Justice Through Destruction: A group of Evolved humans who think it is their right to rule the city. That, because they are Evolved, and thus better humans, they have the right to rule, and be kings. It is unknown where they reside exactly, although it is believed their headquarters is somewhere in the east. They, unlike SOL, use 'normal' people to their liking. They don't care about those normal humans, as they deem themselves superior. Their leader is Wolf, a ruthless man, who cares for nothing else then himself. Behind the shadows he controls a group of people called the Reapers, who do all of his dirty work. Rumoured is that they aren't normal Evolved people, but something else.

Your Role:

Well, you can choose pretty much everything you want to be, from a simple civilian to a member of the groups. JTD are obviously the bad guys, and SOL the good guys. I'm leaving a lot about this groups to your imagination. I just gave a cliche explanation of the good and bad guys, make it original please, as I have no inspiration. xD

The leaders can be used as a character by someone, but PM me first. You can also create a new gang or group. Again, PM me first. Same goes if you want to be a part of SIC, as I have special plans for that faction, and I want it to be a bit of a secret, PM me first if you want to be a part of it.

The Evolution:

Ok, so you will probably choose a character with an Evolution. I will be clear with this: it isn't very strong, at least not at the beginning. For example my character has complete body control. No this is better than a normal human, but it is not like he has superpowers like in Heroes where he can shoot lightening or something. Every evolution must be explained well. Don't just say: 'He can manipulate fire.' ... Say it like something like this: His body is able the sustain a higher temperature than normal, and can control that temperature to his will, which makes him able to create heatwaves without damaging his body. Remember with this that heat doesn't always turn into fire. You can't just suddenly spawn a flame. Maybe if you want to use this, say that he always has a bag of oil with him or something, I don't know.

Oh, also, I will allow demon, or beast-like transformations, but keep it to a minimum.

Now, there are two stages of the Evolution. Everyone starts out with just the first stage, which is a reasonable weak one, as I said. It is just one power, like the fire one, or the body control. Later on in the RP, when I say so, everyone can develop a second stage. There are a few different stages though, linked to the Factions.

Evolved people from SIC are special, and evolve naturally. There are no limitations or strings attached to their second stage, making this sort of evolution probably the best one.

SOL developed a way to naturally gain a second stage. This is not the same as the real natural evolving from the SIC people. First they store Evolved people in a special sort of machine. While people are in this machine, others from the outside can analyze the body. Through this they can analyze what the second stage of the subject is, and order the body to evolve to that stage by means of a certain medicine. This Second stage allows for two more powers, instead of just one, but they are generally weaker than the other two types of second stage, in terms of pure power.

The second stage of JTD is the strongest one in terms of power, without a doubt. However, this stage isn't developed naturally, it is forced. Because of this, they need to take pills every few hours to keep control over their powers, or else they will fall into a state of berserk. Their body often gets damaged through using their powers, thus they need rest after a battle.

Sorry if it wasn't clear, but the only thing special about the world now are the evolved humans. Before the crisis it was just a world like ours at the moment. No demon souls in weapons, or swords firing energy blasts... And how come your character can live that long? Before the Crisis there was only one man with the evolution: Death. Every other man or woman was just another human.

My template:

Name: Æsir, Yreal Comprot, Death, Gabriel...just fragments of his line of names. Over the years, this man has earned many titles. His original name is covered by time, as he himself hardly remembers it. He simply calls himself Gabriel at the moment.

Gender: Male

Age: 213, but appears as a male in his mid 30's.

Appearance: Gabriel is an average male. Long dark brown hair tied in a ponytale at the back off his head, dark brown eyes, and a bit of a harsh face. A scar runs from under his left ear to just above his chin, which he obtained once in an assasination attempt of his life. He is able to remove that scar, but he refuses, as it reminds him of how vulnerable he still is despite his evolution.

His build is muscular, but nothing special. He stands up straight, with a height of about 1.80 meters. Again, nothing really special appears with this man.

He wears black trousers, tucked in his black boots, and a black cloak with hood covering the rest of his body, He doesn't wear anything beneath that cloak. He wears gloves, which, in contradictionary to his all-black outfit, are pure white. The only jewelry he wears is a simple black leather rope around his neck with a silver suncrest at the end.

Faction/Group: Shining In Chaos

Weapon: He doesn't really use any specific weapons. Just what he has at hands. He does posses a certain strange gun tough, from before the crisis. A prototype of a the newest weapon humans created by that time. He hardly uses it, and not much is known about it.

Evolution:
Full body control: Unlike normal humans, Gabriel can control every bit of his own body. He can let his hair grow, or grow bald... He can grow claws from his nails, and harden them... He can control his own bodytemperature... Just to give a few examples. With his evolution, he can also constantly renew his cells, making him immortal in terms of dying by natural causes.

Abilities:
Regeneration: When Gabriel gets hurt, he can order his body to heal the wound, and control every moment of the process if he wants too. Doing this, he can heal a wound in a day, which normally takes a week. This, however, calls upon his reserves, and thus absorbes a great deal of energy from his body. He can use this ability in small terms during fights for example, but when he has a deep wound, he needs a lot of rest after healing it. His evolution also allows him to regenerate cells, granting him with his long life.

Temperature: Gabriel can control his own bodytemperature, making him able to survive in any climate. This also enables him to be completely invurnerable against fire or ice. May that be a normal fire, or a fire-based attack. As the body needs to rise to a certain temperature to burn, he can avoid that by keeping it low. Or in the case with ice, he just heats up his body to avoid freezing. This ability has it limits, off course, as he can't go higher than about 37/38 degrees celsius, or below about 30. If it does happen...he'll die.

Skin: The skin, as we all know, exists of dead cells from within your body. Knowing this, Gabriel can kill off cells within his body, instantly replacing them afterwards, hardening his skin by doing so. Normally the progress of forming skin goes fairly slow within ones body, but when forced, for a moment of time, the skin can become as hard as leather. Maybe even as stone, if enough dead cells are provided. This is only for a moment of time, as every skin eventually gets shed.

Eyes: Unlike a normal person, whoms eyes adjust automaticaly, Gabriel himself can control how much light he absorbs with his eyes. Doing so, he enables a lot of different visions. The most important, and most used of which, is a sort of nightvision. Ordering his eyes to absorb more light than normal, he can see into the dark, to a certian extend.

Transformation: Gabriel can pretty much alter everything inside his body, as long as it doesn't effect his main organs. Doing so he can, for example, turn himself in a sort of beast. Growing claws, teeth, a tail...if he wishes. A lot more is possible, but he never really does it, as turning back is a lot more difficult than growing into another form.

Bio/Recent History:

Born 213 years ago, Gabriel is the longest living human ever known off. His former life is unimportant in the sight of his role in the crisis. He had a rather normal childhood, till around the time he entered adolescence. The things he saw and experienced in that time completely changed his string of thoughts. The world was rotten, was his major thought. People are impure, boring, and overall weak. Although he had never shown it off, or told about it, he knew of his evolution since around his 7th year. Having this evolution, this strange body, together with the thoughts that formed during his adolescence, made him think of himself as superior. A super human. A being, of which normal humans are unworthy to be in its presence.

His ideals became his life. He analyzed and thought of thousand of ways to create a new world, with people worthy of his God-like presence, as he soon saw himself as a Deity. He eventually concluded that there where too many people in this world. Too many rotten souls. He needed to cut down the number, and so he did. He started a world-wide war, eradicating almost the entirety of humanity. The details of this war are too long to explain, as a crisis which destroyed a world cannot be captured in a few words.

After the crisis, he had achieved his goal: Only a few million people where left from the billions that once where. Amongst these humans he sought for those who where worthy, those who would be able to adopt a certain form of evolution as himself, and help him create a new world, where everything was better.

Within months, he found a group of youngsters, and some adults amongst the ruins, together about 20 man strong, who showed potential of evolving. As most of them where starving to death, and hardly able to survive, all of them agreed without a word of protest when Gabriel, at that time using the name Æsir, promised them to take them to Haven. And so, when they finally arrived there, Æsir took residence in an abandoned warehouse in the western part of the city, and quickly, with the help of the others, formed it into a livable habitat and laboratory.

Followed after this where years, and years of experimentation, but everything failed. Experiment after experiment, test after test, nothing seemed to work. Awakening an evolution in other people was harder than Æsir thought at first. There was one case who showed progress, however, and eventually, Æsir used a new technique on this subject, using himself, and his own DNA to try and create an Evolution. But even that experiment failed. The last living subject seemed to have died the day after.

Gabriel left the laboratory, and disappeared into the shadows of time.

Only a year ago, Gabriel returned, and formed the mysterious group SIC. Why he returned, and what his appearance has to do with the sudden awakening of more, and more humans with the evolution, is still unclear at this point in time.

Extra: Gabriel is the first evolved human.

Age: 18

Appearance: Rayden is a fairly tall young man, standing an inch over 6 feet. His body is fairly slender and muscular. Soft, straight blond hair falls just above his eyes, which are a shade of sharp blue. His daily wear includes a pair of black, a pearl, white sweatshirt (inlaid upon it a variety of decal-like designs and the JTD symbol on the hood), black leather gloves on his hands, and a pair of purple sunglasses.

Faction/Group: Justice Through Destruction

Rank: W/e the 3rd rank under leader (so like, assistant captain or something of the sort)

Weapon: Rayden fights with his fists, using a hybrid style of mediocre martial arts, and street fighting.

Evolution: The ability to interact with emotions through a 6th sense state of mind.

Abilities: The only sort of ability available to Rayden at the moment is the ability to see a physical representation of emotion. This also includes being able to see who or where emotions have been focused.

Bio/Recent History: Rayden grew up in the city of Haven with his mother, whom he saw rarely. This gave Rayden the opportunity to explore Haven at his leisure. Using his Evolutionary abilities with natural observational talents, he soon made a game of “deciphering” other people. Through this, he discovered the truth’s of human nature. He first saw this as nothing important, although as his innocence faded and he grew into his teenage years, he began to hate people for their flaws and sins. Rayden detached himself from others, teaching and nurturing himself.

At 14, he discovered JTD. He went to various assemblies and rallies, learning more and more that he agreed with these people. Humans were a disease, and Evolved beings were the superior creatures. Only with those who had evolved could the world become a paradise. He joined the JTD a year after that, and within 3 years attained a respectable rank within JTD.

Age:
Meta's age is at this time unknown, and his appearance does not give a real hint of this notation either.

Appearance:
Meta is both a gorgeous and enigma entity. Meta has an appearance that is something that one might see in a dream turned into a nightmare, or vice versa. The hue of his skin is a teal-green, with some areas where the skin lightens, or is darkened a bit irregularly. Along his body there are reddish lines on certain areas as well. Meta also seems to have some sort of distortion field around him that can blur the features of him on and off. This is a simple explanation however.

Meta's face and head have an overall calm expression set to them, which can be considered a complete contrast to the features that are actually there. An inch or so above his eye brows, on either side of the head, Meta has set of red horns that move out and slightly downward. Above these, there is another set of horns, yet they curve upward, and then finally on top on his head in the center there is another horn, which has a point on it. Each of these horns has a few black rings around it. There are metal bands coming out of his skull and then going back into it between the horns. In the center of Meta's forehead where the skin is lighter, there is a red circular mark with lines curving up the sides, and one going straight up about an inch. There are red lines above around the corners of his eyes, and it seems that his eye lids are partially red as well. There are two dark lines on his face, and a single red line extending from his bottom lip. Meta has piercing magenta colored eyes with a small silver pupil.

The body Meta has is completely void of clothing, and he is completely naked, his body free to view for everyone. His shoulders are rather broad, but not bulkily so. They are muscled, only to where they are obviously not just there, and have been made use of at some point in time. From his shoulders two metal bands jut out from the skin, and curve around and into the shoulder blades, and right above the pectoral muscles. Between these metal bands, there are two light red lines. Meta's left arm is average size, but underneath the fleshy outside are hardened muscles, though his biceps and triceps are larger than the average person. His right arm has no muscle definition at all, mainly because it is a shiny red metallic arm with a hue shine on it. the hand on this arm seems to be made of complete flesh however, though the nails are long and sharpened like claws and the hand is not the same color of Meta's skin, being a peachy color.

His pectorals are firm, and muscled like the rest of his body, and there is a white ring piercing the left nipple. Traveling further down, his abdomen is defined, having a taunt ten pack, moving to the waist and obvious love-handles, which both have a bright red hue circling them. there is also a red emblem similar to the one on Meta's forehead on his lover back.

Though he IS naked, and as you stop at the groin area, there is no significant notation on his body of anything provocatively sexual, or lewd areas showing in the front, just a bit of a gleaming dull red orb in that area that is seemingly grafted into the skin. However on the backside, his buttocks are completely visible, and are mores or less perfect globes of rounded muscular flesh that taper off into defined thighs that go with his muscular legs.

Persona:
Personality is a description that usually deals with the implication of emotional output, or a complex of actions derived from a given mind set or situation. Meta is rather complex in his beliefs, and most of his actions are based on how he actually feels like displaying interest in whatever matter he is dealing with. One could say that Meta is in himself a spectrum of persona traits that could be dull, or explosive. Humble, or eccentric........

Evolution:
Souled Hyper Fundamental Interaction - Meta can use his manipulative abilities to control three of the fourthe fundamental forces which appear to be caused by the use of his developed mind, but this may not be entirely true as some kind of power source exists within him already which is unlike that of what is used by other creatures and that of the evolved. In physicality, the happening fundamental interactions, or thus a based upon force(fundamental) is a mechanism by which particles interact with each other, and which cannot be explained in terms of another interaction.

Abilities:
Gravitation-
By far the weakest interaction that Meta can use, but at long distances is the most important force. There are reasons why gravity's strength relative to other forces becomes important. The first is that gravity has an infinite range(note that Meta can not manipulate things on this scale, as infinite is a notion that would require energy that does not readily exist.),The second reason why gravity is important is because all masses are positive and therefore gravity's interaction can not be screened. In addition, unlike the other interactions, gravity acts universally on all matter. There are no objects that lack a gravitational "charge", meaning that Meta can use his underlying power source to control aspects of gravity, which uses the least amount of energy from him.

Electromagnetism-
This is the next force Meta can control that acts between electrically charged particles. This phenomenon includes the electrostatic force, acting between charges at rest, and the combined effect of electric and magnetic forces acting between charges moving relative to each other.Electromagnetism is also an infinite-ranged force(the same strains and usage apply like before), but it is much stronger than gravity, and therefore describes almost all phenomena of our everyday experience, ranging from the impenetrability of macroscopic bodies, to lasers and radio, to the structure of atoms and metals, to phenomena such as friction and rainbows. Pretty much,Meta can make different forms of electrical blasts along with manipulate aspects of ,magnetism such as controlling ferrous metals. This uses considerably more amounts of his power source

Weak Interaction-
The weak interaction or weak nuclear force is responsible for some phenomena at the scales of the atomic nucleus, such as beta decay. Electromagnetism and the weak force are theoretically understood to be two aspects of a unified electroweak interaction(though Meta does not use these as one often, as the strain and energy consumption is already extreme, and doing so would be potentially disastrous.) Meta can cause objects to break down with this manipulative power, and the slowness of this makes for a good tactic for torture as it slowly can break apart membranes and other materials. This consumes massive amounts of power from Meta, and is not something he uses often.

Bio/Recent History:
The crisis, the time in the worlds history that nobody wants tho think about, the time when humanity faced such a trial against something that others seemed to have wanted, and worked to achieve all along. Power, the evolution of humankind, anything to further themselves. Long having given up using his real name, Meta was a young child whom had extreme amounts of knowledge for his age, and had become an accomplished geneticist, and physicalist by the time he was a mere 13 years of age. However it was during this time that the crisis was slowing down, those of humanity were mostly wiped out, and there was virtually no money for research, as Meta had pretty much been captured as used only on projects that pertained to weaponry even though that was not his area.

He was forced into creating serums that would heal the wounded who fought against opposition, and hsi thoughts turned to those of suicide. nothing was left for Meta in the world, actually not much of the world was left anyway. Soon, Meta was all alone, everyone else dead, or dying, messed up completely or mentally insane and unable to do much. There was a selection of time where Meta had no choice to kill for a living, even turning to partial cannibalism to survive, until he had enough, and exhausted had reached the ruins. Passed out, he awoke with several others to be faced with the man whom had caused the war itself. there was o doubt about it whom the man was, and with nothing to go on, Meta agreed to go along with Æsir, and after reaching Haven and locating to a warehouse, they with the help of others turned it into a lab for evolution. With the skills that Meta had a a profound geneticist, the two thought it would be easy to change humans into something greater.

Failure.

All of the experiments failed, after year and more years, the subjects all died one by one, Æsir even going out to get more for testing. it was to the point where they were just about to give up, and in a talk one day Meta was thinking about a lot. "Æsir. We need to use your DNA. I want you to inject me with your DNA. It is something that will work. I know it, we just need to make a serum out of it, and with the research I was been hiding from you, we could have something." Æsir agreed, and preparations were made.

Once inside the stasis tube, Meta was put into partial suspended animation, and he was only partially aware of what was going on. Something went terribly wrong, and with an extreme evolution seeming in place, Æsir went to turn off the machines, but it appeared that a flux had killed Meta, and with no more use for a dead human, weak the the rest, friend, or not, Æsir left, not to return, and Meta watched this, devastated, and wondering why it was happening. he was still alive, yet Æsir was leaving him all alone. In the few days that followed, Meta transformed completely, but the machine switched to reserves only, and used just light technological activity to keep Meta alive, and his body shut down almost completely.

Many years past, and finally one day, functions of the mainframe in the building came back on, generating power to fuel and run the machines in the segment that Meta was housed in. His stasis tube was flooded with energy, and he broke free, disoriented, and wanting to know what was going on. Simply put, he can see emotions as a physical entity. Kind of like a mist, hovering around ppl's heads. He can also see where ppl have been focusing their emotions. Like if a man was madly in love with a woman, Rayden could see that emotion printed like a tattoo on the woman.

I have other powers in mind, but they seem more appropiate for the 2nd stage.

Edit: Btw, I'm still searching for people to fill in the spots of the Faction leaders... I will fill them in if no one takes them, or maybe decide to make them NPC's. But if anyone is up to it, take them if you want, as that will be better.
