Default Open Challenge, Melee, No Templates.

I suppose I will test the Role-Playing section of this forum. Anyone who wants to do battle, post here. No templates are needed. Just supply a name, and a description in your opening post.

If you want to fight, post. I may not neccesarily pick the first person to post.
I leave the arena up to my challenger.

Gladly.

I'll have an opening post up sometime this weekend, along with the location, if you accept me as your opponent.

Eh, I suppose I will take on Erapture, he seems just as unfamiliar to all of this as me, heh.

Pick the arena, and describe your character in the opening post.

Ok..so like just a character and a brief description?

The arena can be like...mountain top or something? Not too high like an average plateau I guess. Flat surface without much area...

My character will be called Lyon and on to the opening.

"There's always time to kill, why not hit two birds with one stone?"

The voice echoed throughout the mountainous valleys as the day hit dawn. The entire landscape was rough full of dirt, and the mountain itself wasn't too sturdy, as there were many landslides occuring. Even with this the sight was truly one to behold; the entire area was filling with light slowly and the serene silence kept the setting intact. There wasn't much, yet the entire sight was much more 'perfect' than anything you could behold in a city which was full of everlasting noise.

Lyon stood on top of the plateau, staring into the sky as if waiting for something to happen, something important. Beside him stood his sword, about the full size of his body, and all around his body was light steel armor which did not weigh too much, yet was enough to take a head on blow. His belt was metal, a leather rope that went around his waist which ended with a metal tip. All around, he had common mercenary equipment with no extras whatsoever. He had one thing that 'professional' mercenaries didn't have, experience. With skill he could defeat any opponent that had better equipment, plus the fact that he wasn't a complete idiot and knew when to duck and cover.

"Hopefully he'll be done climbing the mountain side and come join me. It isn't much, yet a good fight can always entertain me."

Smirking, Lyon grabbed his blade and walked foward, towards the middle of plateau and started swinging his blade. Obviously he just wanted to show off, but nonetheless, he had to get a good grip on his blade, or it could just as easily fly out of his hand. Thrusting his blade in to the ground, he removed the leather belt and tied it to the end of his blade; his belt was in fact a secret method of fighting which he utilized whenever he could, and he knew it would help him here. He used it in various ways: a whip, extension for a blade, and even sometimes as a sheild to grip onto others weapons, but that was besides the fact. This battle was about to begin, and he was ready. Instantly he shouted into the sky knowing it was a glorious morning.

"Once you get up, no hesitation, we fight."

Alright, great. Let's go.

IC:

As Chromus climbed up the mountain, anticipating the arrival of his challenger, the massive hammer on his back was rocking back and forth, as the wind directed its movements like an orchestra conductor. It was a very difficult process to sheath a hammer, so he merely hung his weapon on his back, secured by a chain. His massive body strength could support the hammer hanging on his back. It also enabled him to swing it with ease, as effectively as a normal man could swing a sword.

With another grab upward, Chromus felt dirt. This was the top of the mountain. A good mountain climb never hurt anyone before a battle, right?

He pulled himself up, and examined the area before him. It was a flat plateau, expanding over about a fifty foot radial. His eyes met those of his challenger, and an uneasy silence followed. He unsheathed his weapon, holding his massive hammer in both hands. It was truely beautiful. Then again, one could not neccesarily experience the beauty of a weapon when it was being pounded into their face. The handle was about three feet long, and the top was the size of two normal human's torsos. It was decorated in spikes along the sides, to effectively gain an impact and cutting attack both in one weapon. It was made of bronze, a simple but useful design.

"Once you get up, no hesitation, we fight.", his opponent bellowed.

"So be it. I would like to know your name, first, though. To me, fighting is a gentleman's challenge.", Chromus yelled back.

He stood with his massive hammer ready, signalling for his opponent to make the first move.

OCC: If you read the opening, it's for one, melee, meaning no special 'powers' to faze up the mountain, and clearly in the description, the plateau is a ways up on the initial mountain.

IC:

Lyon stood staring at his opponents enlarged weapon, which indeed did strick fear into his soul as it had a peculiar shape about it. It wasn't long before he noticed that the hammer had almost a dual effect, as it could easily cut him even if the initial foward thrust missed him. The worst part of the battle would mainly be staying in the small area they had, as it would be very easy to fall off of the mountain and death would occur almost instantly.

"So be it. I would like to know your name, first, though. To me, fighting is a gentleman's challenge."

His opponent spoke the truth, as in a fair fight, it was proper courtesy to state your name before the beginning of this battle. Lyon, however, was a mercenary, and found that playing by the rules was right, yet he wanted to give a more interesting feel to his name.

Gripping his blade, Lyon rushed foward, giving a deathly stare to his opponent. Within and instant, he stopped and spurred off to a side, going around his opponent, and the thrusting foward towards his back, just not at it. There was about another foot before the blade would actually reach this challenger, and he decided to give him a little further notice then just a bare attack to the back. That would be 'cheating'.

"My names Lyon, and you are?"

Without hesitation, Lyon dropped his grip off of his blade, and let it fall as he grapped the whip at the end of it. Before the blade even it the ground, he started rapidly spinning the blade, faster and faster. Smirking, and still keeping grip, he threw his blade at the opponent, while holding the whip tied to the end of it. With this, he could hit him and remain in the same spot. If the reflexes of his opponent were quick, he'd have the advantage. If they weren't, then he would be sent to an early grave.

IC:

Chromus was momentarily confused by Lyon's sudden motion, as he dashed around him, preparing an attack on his back. After then introducing himself, Lyon seemed ready to begin his attack. Without letting a moment go to waste, Chromus quickly span 180 degrees, facing his opponent. He seemed to have a strange whip connected to the end of his seemingly ordinary blade.

The blade began spinning like a windmill. Chromus quickly bent his knees, and jumped backwards. He turned around, to make sure he wouldn't fall off of the top of the mountain. He hit the ground, a couple of feet from the edge, and slid back, as a cloud of dust arose from the ground.

"Chromus."

He watched as the blade was spinning in a circular motion, almost mesmerized by the movements. He reached into his black slacks, and pulled out a cylinder shaped container. Without hesitating for another moment, he chucked it at the ground in front of him, so that it landed equidistant from himself and Lyon. Out of the container arised a cloud of smoke, which quickly overtook most of the mountain, and seperated the two of them like a wall. Chromus could faintly see the silhouette of his opponent. After getting a running start into the smoke, he jumped into the air again. Below him, he could faintly make out his target.

His primary goal was to strike fear into his opponent. With a downward thrust, he would attempt to hit Lyon. Even if the blow was not fatal, it could easily crack a rib or break a bone. Chromus never let his prey go away injured, he would wait until they were unable to walk, and smash the hammer over their head. He learned long ago, to never leave your prey for any chance of recuperation.

As he closed in on his target, with a faint idea of his movements, he struck down with his hammer. Even if the attack failed, it would most likely reflect any counter attack from Lyon, if there was one. The large base of the hammer acted as a great shield, and in the right hands, it was unstoppable.
