The Final Prophecy

No one ever thought it would come, the underground day known as G-Day. Many believed it to be completely false, the day prophesied to bring about the end of gaming everywhere. The final battle of the Console Wars. But, all around us, it's happening. The Entertainment America Corporation (EAC) has released their latest console; The Fony Gamestation. It's cost a simple 5,000 bucks. But, what many believed to be an outrageous price, was actually a well conceived plan, to bring about the end. The EAC has just released their worst game ever, many believe it to be the worst game in the history of the Console War.

In fact, when used with the Fony Gamestation, this simple video game will spell certain doom for the entire world's electrical devices that are not EAC compatible. Forcing citizens everywhere to buy Fony products and spend too much for crap when they can get the same, and better, devices at a much cheaper price. This is where you come in; You are a member of XPLY, a sect outside the government that has existed since the dawn of the Atari 2600. Your mission is to uphold the balance between Consoles everywhere. But that balance has been shattered.

Reports are coming in around the country that products and consoles everywhere are breaking down, you must find a way to prove Fony is behind this disaster before it's too late. If Fony is, in fact, behind the wave of destruction, they will have broken their treaty, and all out war will be forced upon the nation. G-Day is upon us.

Welcome to Game Day, a comedy, clever RPG about the gaming world around us. Although clever jokes and witty remarks abound, there is a clever story filled with plot twists and death. And maybe a cliffhanger that will seriously piss you off after you've spent days playing the RPG to not even get a fair ending, but I digress. As stated, you will be a member of XPLY. An underground sect meant to protect gamers everywhere against the Console War. You are a Special Agent, but we'll get to the specifics in a minute. First off....

The Rules

1. No God-modding, or it's GAME OVER. You can die, but you only have one life, so be careful.

2. Game Master is law. Whatever I say goes. If I say you die, then you die. If I say you're a traitor, then you're a traitor.

3. You are only allowed to be a member of XPLY. No Fony PC allowed.

4. Remember, this is about being clever, it's comedy, if you can't take humor then don't play. And don't complain if I'm making fun of your favorite system.

5. You MUST have a password in your post, it is: Game time.

6. Also, don't gripe or complain on this thread. You have a problem, you PM me. Nuff said. You have a problem with a player, then you PM me. I DO NOT want to see OOC chatter about game systems and what not. You will be removed from the game.

7. USE IC (In-Character), OOC (Out Of Character), and TAG tags. And TAG the member's name, not their characters name. And keep OOC to a minimum.

8. One last note on the humor, although this is a comedy-satire type game, don't push it. Keep it fun, keep it simple, not every post has to have some remark or stupid metaphor. That's just over-kill.

Now then, as I stated, there is a Console War going on. Here are the factions:

EAC Fony Gamestation- A $5,000 system that Fony has put out, it's the latest entry into the gaming war. XPLY believes Fony is behind the electron distortion going on around the country. EAC was once a proud company, but something has corrupted them.

MySoft GBox- A very powerful system costing a simple $450.00 The GBox is Fony's main competition, and could, in fact, win the Console War. Of course, with many system failures, a better version of the GBox released two years after its initial launch, and haters around the interwebs, GBox will need to prove itself. It is the underdog of the consoles, but incredibly popular nonetheless. MySoft is a powerful organization that makes countless devices, except for the Boom, a musical device that was mostly a rip-off, but that's a story for another day.

The Windango Cii- A kiddie system that forces you to jump around when gaming was made for the lazy who like to sit on their couches. Shockingly, it is surprisingly popular, but at 250.00 a pop what isn't? In its defense, the Cii is an innovative system, but is falling fast in the console war, with less than stellar graphics, and a lackluster game library, Windango is really going to have to step it up. Windango is, of course, renown for their stereotypical characters and simple game play.

Each Player Character MUST be in defense of a Faction of one of the above. So choose wisely, your focus determines your reality.

XPLY- This is the Private Organization, you are a member of one of the most highly regarded sects in the gaming world. For centuries XPLY has sit back and watched the Console War rage, of course, with the peace treaty between the three main consoles, nothing has ever gone too far, that is, until recently, when EAC openly attacked Windango and MySoft, and now, a dark war is brewing. You are one of many specialists, your occupations may range from anything that relates to the gaming world in some way. Think of yourself as an FBI Agent, but for XPLY. But, just because you are a member of XPLY, that doesn't mean you don't have your favorite system, because you do, and sometimes, that just may get in the way of work.

Personality: First glance at her and you think overly hyperactive teenager who's had too much sugar but if you look through that you'll find the calm calculating mind of an assassin used to making life altering decisions everyday.

History: Grew up around all three of these major factions and has owned one from each company. Fony was her former favorite and its former consoles used to be her preffered one but as time passed she began to notice several flaws in its consoles in comparison to the other two and so she began to lean more towards the Gbox. The Gbox was and is the better console and so she still plays it all the time even now.

How she became an assassin? Her parents dealt in martial arts and the security business and so she recieved training as she was expected to follow in her parents footsteps managing the family business.

Her parents sent her to work as an assassin for XPLY so that she could learn how to deal with killing and all the comes with her occupation. XPLY was the selected company because her parents noticed the passion their daughter had towards gaming so they felt that sending her to work for what she cared about would improve her overall performance.

History: Nolan is a renown XPLY field agent, if a job needs to be done, then he does it, mostly, though, it's done his way. Nolan supports the MySoft GBox, believing it to be the better system, even if it does have its short-comings. He believes Fony is certainly behind the attacks on the world, and intends to prove it.

Nolan is mostly known around XPLY for his determined nature, and the fact that he often goes against the Director's orders, but Nolan usually comes out on top in the end. He was once a lead Project Manager for a popular gaming company, until coming into contact with XPLY after an attack on his company's core system, he then joined XPLY as a field agent, believing he could offer distinct insight into the world of gaming.

Parker feels that there is a gaming conspiracy going on around them, but he's not a paranoid person, he just thinks there's always more than meets the eye to Fony and their schemes.

History: As a child, he always messed a round with game systems and games, making strange inventions that did even stranger things. Examples include: an EAC portable system that blew up when turned on, and other things of that nature. His parents worried about his strange behavior, and he was sent to a psychiatrist.

But, as he grew older, he became more interested in reviewing games. But, he often has trouble chosing, so he took a job being an inventor/reviewer for XPLY.

He was a firm supporter of EAC until recently, when XPLY started to suspect it of treason. Now, he finds comfort in the Windango Cii, as kiddy as it may seem.

History: Jimmy was born into a non-technology family. They weren't omish, but his parents didn't want to "Taint there minds with childish toys" One day, while over at another friend's house, Jimmy noticed a box. "What's that?" he asked. "It's the latest gaming system, my mom got it for me." Jimmy staired in awe at what he saw. His friend let him borrow it, and when he got home, Jimmy immediatly went to his room and took it apart, studying each part carefully. When he put it back together, and brought it back, he played it on his friends tv. Two simple words popped up when started....Game Time.

Without his parents knowin, Jimmy took classes that would better help his enhancment with technology. He took computer classes, graphic arts, and in college, the highest class you could take for graphic designing. He graduated college at the top of his class, majoring in video game designing. He joined XPLY, on request. He favors the MySoft GBox.

Personality: With her kindly nature, Opal tends to get along with most people she meets. Amiable in any situation, she is keen to help wherever possible. People tend to get the wrong impression of her - while her appearance and demeanour suggest she is of a carefree, dreamy lifestyle, in reality, she is an intelligent, determined young lady. She is hardworking, and dedicated to her job.
However, she is a sensitive soul, and, every now and then, the weight of the world seems to crush her. Melancholy consumes her when she cannot cope with her situation.
History: Starting life as a small-town girl with ambitions to reach the big city, some might say that Opal is living her dream. A fan of all things gaming - and, well, computers in general - she has been interested in the industry since the first day she picked up a game controller. The career choice of making it big in the Gaming industry was not easy to achieve, but now, as an XPLY agent, she is enjoying her job as much as ever. Granted, the Console War has its ups and downs, but she is never deterred.

Personality: He is the strong, silent type. But he knows that it is the biggest cliché in the world, so he tries to lighten up now and again. Though this usually ends up in a bad joke or a really successfull one.

He saw his own family being destroyed by these faulty gaming operations. The bad people behind them forced his family to buy loads of crap to fix the original crap. History: Living in the desert because of a bad run in with the wrong people, secludeing himself from the outside world living in a shack for day's and day's on end with no food or water, trying to escape his horrible past while trying to stay alive, then finds a job that he can keep a cover in and decides to take it no questions asked.

THE OPENING POST-

It was still fairly early in the morning, bridging on Nine AM, that was the time for the meeting of course. Director Sessler was the first to arrive, straightening things up and taking his position at the front of the room, behind the podium.

The Agents had all received the same message; Report To Conference Hall, Nine AM sharp. Reports had come in days earlier, telling of the mysterious failings of consoles everywhere, and it appeared things could be linked to Fony, but now was their time to prove it. Somehow, anyway.

Sessler was wearing a striped shirt, fairly baggy, and some comfortable jeans, he was the Director of XPLY for four years, he couldn't believe it had been that long. Relaxing, he leaned against the podium and waited the arrival of the agents.
