Here Comes Another Suggestions Thread!

The one thing that comes to mind is that if you did decide to do the seperation of original and fandom rps, then this question comes along:

Would you do the exact same thing to the fanfic section? Last I checked, there are people who write original stories that end up getting buried under fandom stories.

Kid, it's the FANFICTION section. Fanfictions obviously outnumber Original Stories 10 to 1. Don't quote me on that, I haven't studied or anything.

Plus, those original stories might just suck.

The ratio of Original Rps to Fan rps is greater than the ratio of Original Stories to Fanfics.

Therefore, there is not yet enough cause for a seperate Original Story Forum.

Well, I haven't read this entirety of the thread, but it's obvious people seem to have great ideas that can supposedly 'revive' the thrill of roleplaying. I have no suggestions whatsoever to give (I'm kinda low on creativity), but I do have a piece of advice; whatever is decided for the Roleplaying Forums, make sure you take each step of reviving them slowly. If these ideas are pounded into the forums and the mods carry these out, it could get quite intense and chaotic. Transition the forums slowly. That's CB's two cents.

We are not seperating the two, it will dilute the sections which will make things feel less lively, then you'll come back and complain to us why everything feels so empty, next?

My intention was not to complain, but just to make a suggestion that I, personally, would like...then, if other people liked the idea, they would speak up. However, if you guys are really against the idea, than I guess that there's no point in trying to further persuade you. It was just an idea.

Anyways, any updates on the awards idea?

When you put it like that, it makes sense why Ulti was saying no to it. xD;; What about a trial run, though? If it works, it stays; if it feels incredibly empty and people complain, then it's gone? *shrug* xD;

For the awards, I'll probably have them up by this week. I'm not going to get prizes done, yet, but I know they'll be something along the lines of a graphic. Also, it's going to be for the past year, so nothing currenlty going on that just started last week. 8D; Otherwise, everything looks good for me to start working on it. I don't doubt that it won't be up tomorrow. ^^;

I LOVE Toboui's idea of the seperate sections, i personally LOVE original RP's, and it surprises me that you guys say that they die quickly.
anyway, to add to that, i never get to see any original rp's because of all the FF rps and all the KH rp's. and i'm not particularly into those. so i vote for Touboui's idea. It make's it much more convinent for the daily RPer.

I completely disagree with you monkeybutt. you make the everyday RPer seem like a raving pessimest always trying to find somthing to complain about. whereas to me, it seems you are too lazy to try to help anymore, for fear you'll hear whines about it later. If it's what the people want then why not try? You're going to hear complains either way. Not everyone is going to agree on the same thing, that is only in a perfect world. So it's just a matter of less or more.

...Actually, we could do that REALLY soon. Like... July 1st. I did that last year and that was pretty fun. xD; It could start at the beginning of July and end somewhere in August. The only problem would be if there's any prizes of sorts [Like sigs, avatar, or 'pixel trophies'] then they would either have to be made first or they would have to be made during the time of the awards. But, I'm more than willing to do that again! ^^

If we do it, how soon should we do it? Also... should I start on making stuff now or wait until this starts up? I have no clue about what categories there would be yet, aside from 'BEST KINGDOM HEARTS RP EVARRRRR', which is a complete... erm... 'duh'? xD;;

Awards: Woohoo, A good idea! I'm so good I can't even believe it.

Archive: No, just an archive of the Role Plays that have good learning potential for the new ones and the older RP'ers. It doesn't take much maintenance, unless people make great RP's every day.

I know double posting isn't exactly popular. But due to the immense popularity of this thread, I am forced to post two times a row, though the dates aren't exactly successive. Besides, who'd notice if I edited the previous post ... Nobody, that's who. Noww I really hope there isn't an RP'er named nobody. Anyhoo, now that there is a award thread, why not go for a raspberry award thread?

I don't see a point in splitting the original and fandom RPs. Along with what monkey said, a member can easily just look at the first post of the topic and deem it good or not. It doesn't have to be split up. If someone would like to find an original Role Play, they they could search through the topics, there's always at least a couple in there.

Role playing is not the problem. It's the member inside of them.

Either people are just simply tired of doing it, or do not wish to constantly have to live up to some great expectations. Personally, I think the best "suggestion" would be a general effort to relax these awkward tensions and cut the whole soap opera.

It's a forum, not a dramatic tv show, let's just have fun and leave everyone else to have theirs. ;3

Repeated arguments and complaints over something so expendable and unimportant as a roleplaying community only serves to exacerbate the non-existent issue, as Limitless has kindly proven.

Yes, that little claim kind of steers away from what you're trying to say ED, so I'll emphasize how important it is to enjoy roleplaying, rather than trying to establish some sort of sophisticated virtual society or intellectual hierarchy.

You're here to interact with others, otherwise you'd be going solo on some video game or the latest issue of Playboy. It's expected then, that you respect each other as sentient beings, this I say because the planetary heritage of some members is reasonably questionable.

Regardless, you should be helping each other to improve the forums, if you so blatantly remain convinced that it is "broken". So I'll let you all in on a little secret...

To tell the truth, I'm not much a fan of legendaries, they've become so frequently overused now that the common pokemon exceed the legendaries in terms of rarity. Just thought I'd let you know. ; )

xD Most of the people that complain about the "Golden Days" weren't even around at the time when they supposedly were. The only difference between now and the times that you're referring to is literacy and activity. The level of literacy and quality of writing has gone up significantly at the expense of people posting more frequently.

That, in my opinion, is why every battle dies. I'm not in the actual RP forum very often, but when I am, I think that's what makes it die as well. People believe they must live up to expectations, when they should be realizing that it's fun. It's the internet, no one cares. Yeah, we all criticize, but we should realize your only enjoying yourself. So, don't care what we, the general public say, and enjoy what you like to do. We just want to be able to understand what your trying to get across. xD
