It would be something like that, but it would also be something where to be able to post, you would have to fill out a little form, which basically just says what you want to collaborate on and what not. There could be discussion, too, but I think people would go off on different things, so PM or IM contact would be highly recommended with things. ^^; You could ask questions in there, though, and even do a big collaboration with several people from the thread.

So, it would definitely be a meeting place, but discussions might be all over the place, so PM and IM contact would be suggested in it. If they're not everywhere in the thread, then it would be a discussion thread, too.

First, I have to clear up something about that: if you're saying something along the lines of an archive for all sorts of RPs, NO. Well, if I do it, it's a complete and utter NO. That thing was terribly hard to keep up with. xD;; If someone else would like to do that, then that would be fine. But, if it's just an archive for legendary RPs that did well, that would be good too, but someone else miiiiiiight have to take care of it. I like the idea, though, but I don't know how hard it would be to keep up with it unless you had help or were VERY willing to do that.

...Actually, we could do that REALLY soon. Like... July 1st. I did that last year and that was pretty fun. xD; It could start at the beginning of July and end somewhere in August. The only problem would be if there's any prizes of sorts [Like sigs, avatar, or 'pixel trophies'] then they would either have to be made first or they would have to be made during the time of the awards. But, I'm more than willing to do that again! ^^

How come it seems like people who probably spent several hours making an rp get little to no people joining them, but people who spent maybe 5 minutes tops and has horrid spelling and grammar can get lots of people to join? And it's not just newbies either, it's premium members too that join those rps.

Well, sometimes, too-thoroughly-thought-out RPs just aren't that fun...usually because the author has a specific idea of what he/she wants to happen with the story, and that's not really how RPs go. Now, the "blowoff" RPs can be really fun, but not really that deep. It's when both aspects meet somewhere in the middle that a fabulous RP is made.

"You aren't good at anything!"
"That's not true! I got a Steve on KHI, once!"
And they could be the usual categories like...best fe/male roleplayer, best original roleplay author, most creative/weird roleplayer, most fun roleplayer, etc. If you really needed help, I'd be happy to throw out more, or you could just ask the RP section. :D

I believe we had a similar rp contest like that last year. It'll be fun to get it started again. Nothing wrong with adding a little air to one's ego =P EH, it can't be helped that some rps die and some live. It just how the rpers feel about the rp. Some will like it. Some will hate it and won't join. There is no way to fix that problem =[

I don't know if separating rps will be the wisest. Truthfully, I have nothing against it, but I just don't like the idea. I'll have to agree with Rena on the archive. There are too many rpers that think their rp belongs there. Kinda hard to keep it cleaned up too. Last time Rena tried to do one, it died quickly D=

Also, Rena, please try to be on MSN more often xP I need to cht with you about the rp section, but you are always away.

I thought it was a great idea. Would you please explain WHY you don't like it, Captain? Purely because I would like to understand your point. From where I'm standing, I can't really think of a downside to separating the RPs, but if you can, please share.

Its more of a feeling than a reason, really. I mean, is there really a point? So it will separate two kinds of rps. But have we come to the point we are too lazy to manually search for lost rps? I doubt having their own section wll make them "stick out" in the way some people hope. People will only join if they like the idea.

Well, basically everyone HAS liked the idea. I mean all of the rp's I've been that died was because people probably forgot. If they see they'll be all "Oh yea, wonder whats going on." And they would most likely do their part.

Well, not just that, but if you want to talk about a band instead of a movie, you go post in the "music" section of the discussion forum. Yeah, I guess you could call it laziness, but the same thing applies to the other forums. >.>

No, seriously, though. I prefer Original RPs to Fan rps. Seperating them into two categories would make it a lot easier to find an rp I'd like to participate in. I'm sick of scrolling through forty pages of "Naruto on Ice" and "One Piece: THE MUSICAL".

Sounds more like laziness on a mod's part for not WANTING to make this change that so many people seem to be in favor of.

Yeah, there's a point. The point is, those are the two main types: You've got your Fandoms and your Originals, so if we divide it, the Fan-RPers can find their Roleplays faster, and the Original RPers can find their Roleplays faster. It's not lazy, in this case, it's just efficient.

Lazy would be making a section for every genre, like, "Romance, Comedy, Vampires, Kittens with Whiskers, and RPs Containing Carrot Sticks."

It's not like we're trying to make sure all RPs are on the First Page of SOMETHING, we're just trying to cut down the number of times you have to go through pages and pages of Fan-based RPs to find your Original, which nobody's joined because they've given up on finding good Original RPs.

I believe that what we're aiming for is a metaphorical sign reading, "This way to Original RPs, that way to Fan-Based RPs." Not a detailed map to every kind of genre, if this helps to explain at all. People will only like the idea if they can find the idea first.

The one thing that comes to mind is that if you did decide to do the seperation of original and fandom rps, then this question comes along:

Would you do the exact same thing to the fanfic section? Last I checked, there are people who write original stories that end up getting buried under fandom stories.

Yes but the Fan Fictions should be seperated a little more thuroughly than RPs. If you're looking for a story about pokemon or something, you don't want to sort though every other story of fandom there. Yes call it lazy, but, Eh I don't know.

Or at least seperate the types of stories that crowd the section most.

I know, but Every Heart Brought it up, so I answered. Anyways, I think we've established that we are possibly going to seperate Originals and Fandoms. That would be one problem handled pretty well, what next.
