Lightbulb Open Challenge

Right. Being a n00b, I don't yet have the motivation to really join any RPs. I'd like to give an open challenge to an RP battle to anyone, so that I can be more than a useless lump of e-trash taking up space.

Rules:
- The standard. No god-modding or power-playing, including using a TOO powerful character.
- I'd like to battle someone who's somewhat active.
- Erm, I need judges? Arbitrary number: 3.
- Post your profile after this if you'd like to beat me up.

My own profile:

Name: Kenneth Jivrah (goes by Ken)
Sex: Male
Age: 19
Race: Human
Height: 5’11”
Origin: Basubo clan
Allegiance: Ijiko clan
Occupation: Leading warrior

Appearance

As a ninja trained in quick, stealthy movements, Ken is a warrior built for both strength and agility. His body is both lean and muscular, providing him the power he needs for intense missions as well as other necessary components, namely speed and maneuverability.

Ken’s normal combat outfit consists of a navy blue vest worn over a comfortably fitting, black shirt, comprising the clothing over his torso. The vest itself extends slightly lower than his waistline, partially covering his utensil belt containing the tools he uses during his battles. His black pants also fit comfortably, loose enough to allow a wide range of maneuverability without hampering his speed. Leather boots cover Ken’s feet, light in weight and padded inside. Ken wears a pair of leather gauntlets over his hands in order to protect them from calluses caused by the use of his weapons. In addition, he resorts to fighting with is fists when deprived of weapons, so the gloves provide certain padding.

Dark brown, ruffled hair stands out as one the first things noticeable in Ken’s appearance. When it’s needed, he’ll pull up a snugly fitting cloth over his mouth and nose, normally hanging loose in front of his neck. Ken’s eyes are a dark brown, not completely dull but not exactly bold, either. They deceivingly appear almost lazy, though it is a misconception.

Weapons

Ken carries a number of weapons to use in combat. His general combat style consists of quick movements to outmaneuver his opponents, so all of his weapons are lightweight, small, and easy to swing.

Harvest
His signature blade, the Harvest is a short blade, approximately seven inches in length. It consists of a strong, steel edge and a comfortably grip to allow flexibility in the ways in which he uses it. It is normally concealed in its sheath on his back, the hilt facing directly up. When he needs to use it, he can easily draw it out.

Combat Knives
In extremely close quarters, Ken can draw out one of his two smaller combat knives. Both are four inches in length, comprising of extremely sharp edges. The two blades are meant for quick, stabbing motions or for quick slashes when in close range. The hilts of the two knives are also designed for light weight.

The blades are normally attached to his boots, sliding and locking in safely in specially designed grooves along the backs.

Shurikens
Ken also carries with him a stash of standard throwing shurikens to use as projectiles. Carried around in two pouches, attached to opposing sides on his belt. The designs of the pouches allow him to draw out the weapons swiftly and with ease. He typically carries around seven to eight shurikens in each pouch.

Armor

Lining the inside of Ken’s vest is a special rubber material, lightweight yet extremely resilient to impact. It provides for him all the armor he needs over his torso, as the rubber combat armor proves to be able to resist being pierced by blunt weapons and objects, as well as some heat.

In order to protect his arms, Ken wears two special bracers along his forearms. They are made of sturdy metal with a small number of protruding hooks on both for varied use. They effectively work as shields when he raises his arms in front of him.

Skills

Besides his style of swiftly wielding his light array of weapons and effectively using projectiles, Ken is also capable of fighting without his weapons when he needs to. He practices a self-taught discipline of special combat attacks effective in knocking opponents out.

Due to his early training, Ken’s strength was raised to be much more impressive than that of the average ninja despite his general focus on speed and agility.

In addition to his physical abilities, Ken also wields abilities involving wind control. Using his mind, he can stir around the air molecules of his focus enough to create winds ranging from slight breezes to raging storms. However, his ability to maintain stable control over these winds decreases with the strength of the winds. In addition, the effort required to manipulate storms is so great that he only resorts to doing so when in the direst of situations.

Personality

Ken, being a young man entrusted with the position of a leader, accepts and carries out his duties with perseverance. He is the type to put in everything he has, including when it comes to companions. However, when the life of a close friend and partner is on the line, he is willing to forsake the mission’s success in order to ensure his team’s safety. As a reliable friend, Ken is one that is loyal and can be trusted with the utmost responsibilities.

History

The birth was prophesized by the elders as a cursed one. No one listened, for they never believed in such trifles as superstition. Kenneth was raised a normal, healthy child instead of being outcast as the elders suggested. In truth, his family believed the prophets as far as his future power was concerned. They kept him close as insurance; strength meant power and authority, and they believed that they had it.

Ken was trained under the harshest circumstances in the little village of his birth. The masters brought down their strictest disciplines to shape him into the warrior his parents expected of him. He quickly surpassed abilities seen in children twice his age. At the age of seven, his parents were proud to have him as an asset to their domain. Their plans were to establish their own clan over the existing Basubo clan, and Ken was the key they needed to do it.

On the day of his eighth birthday, however, Ken, on an instinctive urge, left home to wander. He was seemingly strolling around randomly through the wilderness when he was attacked by a pack of wolves that were protecting their territory. In this new setting of peace, Ken felt weak. He couldn’t bring himself to kill the animals quickly enough before they mauled him near death. As he came to his alertness, he managed to kill the leader of the pack and scare off the rest. As he lay in the middle of nowhere, dying of blood loss, he fell unconscious.

The one who came across his seemingly lifeless body was another ninja, but belonging to a separate clan, the Ijiko. Ken was nursed back to health and was guided under the wing of a legendary ninja of the clan to be not only trained, but to also be changed mentally. He soon forgot about his past life and dedicated himself to the cause of the Ijiko.

Years later, he found himself caught in the middle of a war between clans. The Basubo had discovered Ken’s location within Ijiko ranks and, in a bloody battle, attempted to claim him back to use as their own weapon. Ken lead the battalion of warriors that pushed back the Basubo, unaware that he was fighting his own flesh and blood. He slaughtered enough of his kindred to drive the Basubo away and cause them to never return.

During the battle, however, Ken had come across his parents, though not recognizing their faces. He was deaf to their pleas to beckon him home. Before killing them himself, they gave him one last departing gift. “Take this box… we love you son, and no matter what happens, we stand by this. Consider this a gift from our hearts.” The beautifully crafted box stayed with Ken until the end of the battle.

He brought home the gift. It was embellished in all manners of decoration on the outside. The trinket felt unusually heavy. Driven by curiosity, Ken opened the box to peer inside. The result was disastrous; his parents’ last gift had been a trap. Contained within the box was a wind spell, one so strong that it had required the efforts of the entire Basubo clan to create. The resulting windstorm nearly destroyed the village before Ken realized yet another power within him; he had the power to control winds with his magic. He was able to save his village in time and, in the process, gained a better understanding of abilities he had never known about.

In the ensuing years, Ken became one of the leading warriors of the Ijiko clan, single handedly bringing them to be the most powerful of the surrounding ninja clans. Memories were no longer a part of him. Within himself, duty rose to become his dominating priority. Ken rose to a powerful position within the clan, deemed by the elders as the next and last legend the village would ever lay its eyes upon.

Everything was set out for him. Prestige, power, respect, fame – they were all within Ken’s immediate reach. But it would be a certain mission that would change how he felt, one that would twist his perspective. A simple question. Everything unraveled. And Ken finally began to ask himself, What am I really fighting for…?
