This, if you ask me, should be the center-point of the roleplay, as it keeps the protagonist's true identity, purpose, etc. hidden until the very end and makes for a much more rounded story. Meanwhile,

are a bit overdone and unnecessary (and strange, given that angels are apparently trying to stop him). I say make the recovery of the protagonist's memories his main goal (with any other goal a branch from it) and build the roleplay out around that, using it as the cornerstone of your story.
Well, it depends on which way you intent to take the character.
People with amnesia tend to best recover memories around loved ones and familiar, cherished places. However, if you're looking for the more theological approach, you can have him visit important places such as Meggido and whatnot.
