Contest Ideas

As some of you may remember, when i first became mod of this here section, I intended to create one contest a month for people to participate freely in. As you may also remember, I stopped doing it after two.

So, here I am, interested in staring up such a thing once more. However, it has dawned upon me that such contests are best made not from my mind alone, but from that of the RP populace. In this thread, you will post your ideas for any sort of contest that we may have, aside from tournaments in the Challenges section. Those will be dealt with at a later time.

There are of course, rules:

--There shall be no flaming of any idea presented. Any flame or argument starter will have their post deleted and given a warning. Three warnings equal a ban.
--The admission of a contest idea is not a guarantee of its acceptance. I, and Rena if she so chooses to partake, shall decide which idea gets implemented into that month's contest.
--This thread is for the submission of ideas only. If you are to comment upon an idea, send me a PM or the creator. Any posts that are not flames, yet do not contian ideas to be submitted, will be deleted without the dispension of a warning.
--If there are any questions, PM me.
-- Ensure that your idea is legible and easily understandable. I've little patience and will not take the time to read something I deem illegible.
--The ideas of veterans will not be given more consideration than those of newer Rpers, and vice versa.
--Rewards are not given for the submission of ideas, nor for their use as contests. You will be acknowledged as the idea's originator if your idea is chosen.
--This list is subject to change.

Every so often, I will post in the thread with the ideas that are most likely to wind up as the contest topic, just to keep you informed. By the end of each month, I shall certainly try to have the contest up and open. The deadline of the contest itself will vary from month to month.

Haven't been around with those previous contests before, but I like the sound of it.

Maybe a good idea is, not like in the challenge tournaments as you said, but more like...everyone begins by making a character (obviousy). It has to be original though, nothing used before, that'll be a nice add. Anyway, the goal is to write the most intruiging story with the character created. This is just an idea that popped into my head a minute ago, so I don't know much details. I don't know if we need a background story for everyone to follow like normal, and what that might be than. I think so as without it it would be more like a chaptered fanfiction contest. =P

Furthermore I'd say that maybe some rules will apply, which will make it harder to write. To test ones skill so to say.

Well, not a really thought-through idea (Is that a word? xD), but heey its something to begin with. ^^

Hmm, now that I'm thinking about this, maybe make like a background story, and maybe to some characters, and everyone tries to make a story with that. Still, again, this is more fanfic than role-play, but its hard to think up a real contest between people, while they are writing one story togheter. Without it being a battle as in the challenges section.

Ah, well, just see what you do with this. ^^

Hm, maybe there could be a set idea concept that participants create characters for... like, for example, set the plot and a few little ideas down about a KH roleplay - just an example, again - then ask the participants to come up with an interesting template to fit said RP. The most creative or interesting could be the winner.

Just an idea though.

Strange little idea that just popped into my head ...

"Popcorn" Role-play character creation:
A number of teams ( consisting of however many people you want to be on a team, 3, 4, or whatever ) make an original character together.
Example:

Person A creates the Name, Age, and Appearance of a character. They then PM ( or post ) what they have to their next "team-mate", per-say.

Person B creates the Weapons and Attacks of their character, passes it on to Person C, and so on and so on until you have created a battle-ready character.

This would be where the contest bit comes in.
The teams ( let's say there are three seperate teams consisting of three people per team ) post their created characters in the Contest thread, and whichever is most interesting, original, or whatever wins. You don't even have to battle with it necessarily, or you can also include a battle phase to the Contest, where the teams have to take turns posting in the battle with their created character. This can test how the RPers in our section interact with each other, with the same character.
