Rep Power: 3 ![]() Level: EXP: | Ok, so i am currently 15 and have no idea what to do with my future in artwork and dont know where to post this. I would like to draw for videogames. i am pretty good but have very little access to technology and computers so have been doing nothing but free hand sketching and i need to convince my parents to let me use more technology. If you have any suggestions on what programs would help me that would be great. Also, i dont know the path I need to take to get to making artwork for videogames. Do i just go to an art school and apply for jobs? Or can i go to a real college that also offers art classes? or do i go to a gaming college? I have no idea. Please, anyone, i need help if you have any suggestions on how i can hopefully get my dream job one day. I dont know, maybe someone knows the path that others like tetsuya nomura took or somthing. Anything. help please. |

| Dual Wielder | AHHH, you want to do what I'm going to school for <333 Get your hands on Photoshop. Maya is something to try out too, but its very complex. It would be smart to get a graphic tablet too. I'm as broke, if not more broke, as you are. I got my starter tablet at like $100 on student loans. As for the other things, I had no idea what I wanted to do until last year. I ended up going to the International Academy of Design and Technology. They're pretty good. I'd say take as many art classes as you can. Apply to some Art colleges defently. I am no where near done with my education. I want to get my bachleors in game design then go back to get my masters in art. You got a long way to go too. Good luck :) |

Like this Summer I worked in a Cancer lab at Duke Univeristy, beacuse I love science and the fact I was paid. Talk to your parents or see if there is anyone in your community in that field. Colleges around you may let you take classes during the summer or after school in art. That way you could get College credits well before you need to and prepare yourself for the real world. |
