Advice on making sigs- Critique and Advise

I already kinda make sigs, but I know they have alot of errors in them. People have given me advice and stuff, but I really don't get it. I use GIMP 2, for my photo-editing, so can someone either make a tut for that or help me with some advice I can understand.

I know this is my fault, but I wanted to see if I can make a sig before I request.

Nobody uses Gimp 2, so that's probably why you aren't finding many tuts on it. :\ My suggestion? Get Photoshop. Then the tutorials might make a bit of sense.

Yeah I had the trial version for a while, but im too broke to actually buy it. It's very similar to Photoshop, so maybe I'll try a photoshop tut and see if it works. thanks. Any other advice?

There are other means of obtaing Photoshop... (means that must not be discussed) I must tell you that most of the respected members of the KHI GFX community haven't formally 'purchased' their copy of Photoshop.

yesh^^. we didnt 'purchase' them. but if you googled it and still cant find any then there probably arnt any to begin with. i dont know how Gimp rates on a photo editing software compared to something like photoshop. but im guessing its pretty low. if you can buy photoshop, or 'get' it somehow, you can always go with a different software thats cheaper. if you plan doing stuff with photo editing for a long time then you sould just get photoshop.
