Pixel Art. I DUN GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Story: For uncounted years I have attempted to do pixel art. I tried many times and only wound up with crap. I searched for tutorials, but more often then not my search engine just spat out 20+ pages of garbage with the occasional, very well hidden, decent tutorial. Needless to say, I never really got anywhere with pixel art. The height of my prowess is The Paradox King** and it is, in my opinion, crap.

What I'm Getting at: I need a pixel art tutorial so simple my incompetent, drunk, and illiterate friends can be able to understand it because (ego-mania kicks in) my vast amount of skills and knowledge does not include anything on pixel art.

PS: (As dumb as this may sound) I'm MS Paint illiterate, I can do things in Photoshop CS2, but I never could (and don't understand how anyone can) do anything half-way decent with Paint.

**The head recoloring wasn't even done pixel by pixel, it was done with a hue/saturation adjustment in Photoshop
