| Reflection's Sexy Rayfish | Aw man....I'm the only person who's active here and the rest of you are Plats! Hell, I'm not even premium....yet.... Anyways, if Palmer still wanted to know how to use clip maskings in GIMP, here's a how to. Get a stock or a background or whatever you want to clip mask, and find your "mask" or whatever you would like to cut from your BG. Duplicate your background/stock layer and then place your mask on the place that you want the effect to replicate. Right click on your mask. You will see an option that says "Alpha to Selection"; you must click on that. You will see an outline on your mask. Then, click on your background/stock layer. Your mask must still be outlined. Then, while your stock layer is selected, press Ctrl-I on your keyboard. Your selection should be inverted (your mask will be outlined as well as your entire canvas). Then press Ctrl-X. Right click anywhere on the canvas, and select "Selection" and then "No Selection"; you can then delete your mask. You should have two layers now, one is your original stock, the other is the one you duplicated and cut. Move the duplicated (now cut) layer around. That is your clipping mask. |
