Rep Power: 0 | Your Views on Atheism Well, i'm an Atheist myself, but i want to know religious people's opinions and views on atheism.
As an atheist, i dont believe in any supreme being, and i follow science mostly, i usualy cant believe in something unless you show me concrete proof of it. But other than that i do believe in Karma (the principle of if you do good things, good things will happen to you but if you do bad things, bad things will happen).

I myself has you have guessed are Atheist, and i just want a normal life no rules about your life apart from the law.

Rep Power: 19 | Re: Your Views on Atheism We don't "believe" the Big Bang occurred in such way. That's just the current leading cosmological theory. And, because it's a theory, it has proof (red-light shift, Cosmic microwave background radiation, etc.). Understand that atheists simply disbelieve in a God. Yes, they are more likely to accept current scientific theories, but scientific theories must always be supported in order to be a theory.

Agnostic atheists at least make more sense in that they do not believe in any god described on Earth, but rather in some sort of supreme being.

I can see how a person would believe science over the supernatural. Ive done some serious arguing ( with myself ) on whether God was real or not. But Ive had a few experiences that seem above nature so there fore I believe. | | (Offline)

It can go either way, really.

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Your Views on Atheism I'm agnostic, though, when faced with extremists from either side of the fence, I usually just wish religion didn't exist.
Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs, and I feel I can be somewhat practical and have faith at the same time by being agnostic. Once you pick a religion, you have to immerse yourself in its beliefs in order to call yourself a true believer; not only is that extreme dedication, there are also values in certain religions I just can't wrap my head around.
So why not just say you believe in something and just don't know what? And personally, I don't think it's a very good thing to be too religious. I'm sure more than a few people have noticed that segregated religions' only function so far has been to divide; not much good has come out of it.

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Your Views on Atheism I'm an athiest mainly because christians kinda ruined "religion" for me.
I seen how attatched they were to their god and that they try and push their beliefs on people who chose not to believe in god. I dont like how they treat their followers by saying "believe this or else you go to hell" and if you even try and talk back or against the teachings, you get in some major trouble with the other people at the church. It kinda just ruined religion in general for me, i want to be free to make my own decisions.
So yea, this is why i'm athiest, and no i'm not bashing christianity.

Rep Power: 1 | Re: Your Views on Atheism I'd say I'm an atheist. It's kinda hard not to be. I mean, how can you believe in something just because someone tells you to. No offense or anything but I think science has the advantage. I mean they're facts. Sometimes when I look at science, I'm kinda weary of believing it, but it makes more sense to me than any religion.

There is absolutely no explanation via pure atheism (I am not sure if calling it 'pure atheism' is the right word... someone correct me please) on the existence of anything - energy, matter, space nothingness. | You assume, right off the bat, that it needs an explanation. Scientifically, it does not. Hence, since you are saying it makes no sense based on something you think must have an explanation, well, it's just bad logic.
