Your Views on Atheism

Faith is believing in something you can't see what isn't tangible.

I mean for me i believe as long as you have faith in something you're straight. Like i've said before in this thread people who have grown up never knowing who god is shouldn't be condemned to hell just because they're ignorant to his exisitence.

By ignorance I mean not knowing, not stupid.

These different factions obviously come from the same core, those essentials have just been tainted by human hand as they've spread across the globe creating the factions we know today. Trying to force someone to believe in something and shunning them for not doing so is wrong no matter how you look at it, it's hypocritical to say the least when you're taught to be compassionate and understanding to the opinions and beliefs of those around you.

like i said every religion/faith is in some way hypocritical :D

and if you think about it every faith even if they don't believe in God, atheist believe in scientific proof, hell perhaps even in themselves; that they have control over every aspect of their own lives.

And people who believe in other faiths round the world believe in something, it might not be god but it's something.

No one's perfect but i believe leaving a good life helps xDDDDD

That's because there's faith, and there's Faith. They do not share the same meaning, and although they are similar, claiming them to be the same thing is like saying 2 different words mean the same thing without they being synonyms. There's "I trust my ability to read fast" faith and there's the "ignore proof that the world is round" faith.

But you know what I'm saying just about every faction of religion is hypocritical to some degree.

I think its their choice if they dont believe in somthing. that fine by me. I have nothin against them.

Again, this is "I trust what I'm seeing with my own 2 eyes" faith. The faith you speak is the believing in something regardless of proof, such as believing in a world flood regardless of the lack of evidence.

In the Western world? Obviously because that is, by far, the dominant religion. If Islam were the dominant one in our area, we'd concentrate on the Qur'an, no?

Science and religion are both searches for truth. The difference is what the two are trying to find the truth about: religion asks why, science asks how.
