Your Views on Atheism

Atheism is just another system you believe in, like any other.

The common, unfortunate mistake others make on it is that Atheism is a religion. It isn't. lol It's actually kind of like the color white. The absence of color (or in the case, religion).

I think most individuals who are atheist are able to live a much more free, open life than those who are religious. Mostly because they try to make their stay in this life as full and potential-filled as possible.

Black in the absence of light and white is all the colors combined. Just felt like saying that.

I could have sworn black is all colors combined? o.o I said absence of color, not light. Which would be white, right?

White is the combination of all the colors of the visible light spectrum. White is an achromatic color, since it has no hue.

Lol, what you were talking about was the Artistic world. You know, all paint combined equals back? Don't worry, learn something new every day.

That's because art uses blue, red and yellow as primary colors, which are incorrect. If you get the perfect hues of blue, red and green (the true primary colors), you should get white.

Well either way, all I was trying to say was that atheism is like an absence of any religion, therefore not making it a religion. I run into way too many people both online and irl that constantly say Atheism is a religion because it's a "belief." Which makes me laugh.

And even then, I don't think people should categorize themselves as religious or atheist. It's really pointless because it's a limit to what you want to believe in. And for me, personally, I don't think of myself as Atheist OR religious. I used to be Catholic, and now I'm not, but if it happened that there was actually a god that existed that I could have some actual evidence for believing in, I wouldn't have a problem.

But I think even then I'd be questioning things. lol

I don't confine myself to a system of beliefs. That doesn't mean I don't believe in anything.

Other people may share them, but it doesn't mean we're going to start a religion or cult any time soon. Maybe we should. =P

No, I find it all too restricting. Worshiping a God who never shows his face etc. Sure you could say, he makes himself known through our actions and the world around us. Well I'm going to appreciate the world, and the people, rather than selling it short to its supposed creator.

I might take aspects from Atheism, but it doesn't make me Atheist. Just in the same way that I'm willing to believe in Jesus and his teachings, rather than his father.

Yessssss. As an agnostic atheist (or something) I've been asked numerous times by religious people, "If you don't believe in God, what do you believe in?" As if without some supreme being giving structure to every stupid part of my life I'm completely lost, without purpose, without morals. Well let me tell you guys, as ****ed up as it is, I believe in humanity, and I embrace everything it has to offer, INCLUDING sexual desire (boooooo) and otherwise hedonistic behavior (hissssssss). I live for my passions and curiosity and at the end of the day I don't need the false hope of some ultimate salvation to make me feel good or bad about my actions.

PIGMENT - Mix all the colors together you get black. LIGHT - Mix all the colors together you get white. No light = black.
