Right or Wrong?

Umm...well my friend had told me that certain shows are wrong to watch like Naruto,Pokemon,Yugioh,Ben 10 and some other ones and he is Christian but im Catholic and im not sure if I should go along with him or just keep on doing what I want.So what I want to know is should I keep doing what I want and not listen to him or listen to him and not watch/play (when I say play I mean video games) the shows he says?

No, it is not wrong to watch those shows nor is it wrong for you to play those games.

Your friend is the stereotypical christian that makes the rest of us look bad. Nowhere is it said that these shows are bad. I can understand what the controversy is behind them, but to say that they are bad is just bias.

The only problem with those are if you do them too much, and it becomes more than a habit. When you spend more time doing those things, that's when it becomes not so innocent.

Well I dont watch Yugioh im just thinking about buying a game about it and I watch Pokemon when its on cause there is nothing else to do and yeah I remember the old days when I was like 4-5 years old and I watched it but now it changed so much from the first series.

The only reason they say they are wrong is because people don't like ninjas and they don't like pokemon is because it deals with evolution.

I see nothing wrong with them at all.

Yu-Gi-Oh GX is just horrible. YGOH was good only in Duelist Kingdom saga. Also, anytime Ryou Bakura got screentime.

The first season of Pokemon was great. It was a real anime back then. How things have changed

Pokemon would technically go against the concept of creation, well before the current generation, and violates animal rights laws.

Yeah, I have to agree with everyone else. Your friend is being a bit overblown on this.

Most Christians who have a problem with things like Pokemon don't like it because it shows evolution and because the Pokemon can be viewed as 'demons' that are controlled by the characters. The Church doesn't want these witchcraft ideas running around in impressionable children's minds.

I laughed at that pamplet. I can't stand (No offense) people who shelter there kids like that. It's taking away people's creativity. I don't think that "god" intended for people to have a closed mind like that.

Thing about pokemon is I have never heard them talking about the people evolving. Since its just the pokemon that are I figured it shouldn't be bad since they aren't real

Ha pokemon! I always loved how no matter what that little rat thing could just kill it with lightning even when it was imposible.lol. No there is nothing wrong with the shows (I dont know what Ben 10 is so I would not know about that) Go on ahead and watch just dont get to into it like PMF said.

Well, I'd like to say first that Christianity = Catholic. Catholocism is a sect. So technically you're friend is trying to overpower your already-christian views into something he thinks is right.

It's not bad to play those games. In fact, no where does it say you shouldn't play those games or watch those shows (POKEMON FTW).

Do what you want. As long as you don't get to enveloped into TV and games, you're fine. But that's coming from me, a person who does far too much games & TV.

Christianity is an ever-evolving idea as well. Much like Darwinists, scientists, non-christians, etc... Christians and Christianity drive for progress. So saying it's bad because of evolution is like saying it's bad for people to drive for new, progressive standing points. Or something to that effect. *opinion*
