Is there anyone on here who is Mormon?

Alright, first, I have to make sure you believe the same thing that my other Mormon friends believe. They say that God was once a human like us and He was holy and stuff in His life so His God made Him a God. Do you believe this?

If so, this is the question: God is supposed to be perfect. So He can't be power-hungry or selfish or anything like that. So wouldn't He want us to know about the God that made Him a God?

I would ask my friends this, but when I do they can't seem to give me a straight answer.

I live in Mormonville U.S.A. and that is certainly not what they believe here. I don't know where you came up with that, but I'm pretty sure that's not standard beliefs.

Read the Book of Mormon if you're curious.

Uh, anyways. From what I know of Mormon beliefs (Since I hear them from students and teachers constantly every day. Yeh, separation of church and state my ass.) God was never human, and I believe it's also taught that God wants you to only worship him (and no other idol), so even if he was, he wouldn't tell you about his God or you'd worship (Or honor, if the Mormon god killed the original in order to place him) that God was well.

That's from what I hear, I've never read the book of Mormon, though. Apparently I'll get sent one when I turn 18. *Really wishes for Pagan grandparents*

I have never met a Mormon in my life. This country isn't really big on anything that isn't Catholic.

Technically, Mormons are catholics. Sorta. They're basically Christians, only they added some more sins and more stories. They share many beliefs, though. : /

They have a whole new book. What's more, that new book is more important than the Bible to them. That makes them non-catholic in my view.

Eh, I suppose that does tick off a few Catholics. My view has always been on what beliefs they share, so you could claim that they're not Catholic by something like that. Seems all the same to me, but I don't really care about their squabbles anyway.

Right, not America. I live in Puerto Rico. One other group I've never met has been the Jehovah's Witnesses, but that's probably because our neighborhood has security.

I'm not going to read the book of mormon. I disagree with it (no offense, I'm just really not mormon) but thats what I find kind of funny. I have several mormon friends and there are things that they tell me and they all contradict each other. It's weird.

That's like saying technically Jesus is catholic.
Mormonism is a Protestant Christian sect.

They are often, even within a single group, people who disagree on certain aspects of a belief.

Mormons used to believe in polygamy, until it became illegal.
Some still do it, others have abandoned it, thus allowing it to just casually 'disappear.'
