for some reason, i assumed that if it was a 'name with 666' case, then it would at least be their names in hebrew, i dont see any original text of the bible in latin.
revelations was written in greek

Nonetheless, I beleive the flood happened in the Mesopotamian valley, which at the time was the main focus of civilization. I've no doubt the flood could have been powerful and high enough to destroy the rack shack civilizations they had there. Which is also the main topic of debate for the city of Atlantis. Some say that the flood wiped out the civilization and buried it's remains under the sea.

Except atlantis is a greek story, no(to my knowledge) other stories like it. Not only that but i've only heard of flood stories from the middle east, nowhere else.

Sorry, thought you were talking about Atlantis, not some general civilization theory.

Quote:
I think A flood happened.
I think this flood was centralized in the valley where the remains of mesopotamia lie.
I think that the flood DESTROYED mesopotamia and killed many of it's inhabitants, thus the ruins.
I think the ruins we know as the CITY of Atlantis, are actually the ruins of mesopotamia that were washed out to sea. Just an abstract theory that is floating about in my head.
Yeah, except Plato, the one who made the legend, says the Egyptians knew the Atlantians and that it was in the Atlantic.

Quote:
When did I ever say anything about a continent sinking? O.o
I'm not stupid. >_>
Then it's not Atlantis. It's "random city" theory.

Yes, excuse me, I was using Atlantis as a relative term, something along the lines of it, and underwater city, ruined by time.

well, a theory about the world flood was that earth was once covered by a shell of ice or water. like miles high or something. it turned earth into a type of greenhouse, also increasing oxygen by about 30%(amber bubbles with air in them that have 30% more oxygen) and the flood was when this shell came crashing down

And that happened to the water vapor? It goes into the atmosphere, right? Meaning another world flood had to happen. But, like I said, there's not enough water in the planet to Flood it all.

Polar ice caps.....

The polar ice caps have enough water to flood the surface of the planet. In fact hey beleive the planet at one point was ENTIRELY aquatic. So, actually, there IS.

Natural phenomena DO happen.

See, this is where you're wrong. When water freezes, it expands. It's the reason why it floats. The polar ice caps melted would take *less* space in the Earth. If the ice caps right now haven't completely sunk every square inch of land in the Earth, what makes you think the ice caps would be enough to cover 30% of a whole freaking planet?

They float miles above the water in some areas. The ice caps are not all at sea level, they are both above and below. Entire mountains have been known to be made entirely of ice.

There is also more landmass now than there was some hundred thousand years ago.

Your point? Take the Artic, and compare's it size, reduce it's volume, and ask yourself if it's enough to put Asia, America, Europe, Africa, Asutralia, Antartica and all of the islands underwater.

No.

Please cite your sources for this information.
You base your argument off personal presumption. Have you ever SEEN the ice caps?
Also, there is the possibilty that not the ENTIRE surface of the Earth was flooded, but a vast majority very easily could have been, especially if the water was moving.

Nonetheless, the surface residue and effects of something like that show no proof worldwide, so don't get me wrong.
I don't support the flood story ideal.

Then let's play that game. The ice caps take how much % of the Earth? I hope it's at least 10.

Oh sure, down the mountain, up the mountain!

I never said it did. XD

I simply said it could have been WORLD-WIDE.
That does not imply that every inch of the world, just the majority.
