Are people who are religious more content then people who aren't?

Religion doesn't really matter. It's how the person is personality-wise. Religion can make people happier, but it really doesn't matter. Religion can make someone happy or unhappy depending on who they are.

What a vague inquiry. Which religion are the cirumstances? Christianity? Does someone who lives by sin and repentance have any distinction from another Christian?

Religion is simply a question of faith,
Your asking if following one makes us more in content with our own lives? That's not true at all, to be more in content with your live you simply need self-confidence and self-awareness etc.

Well I guess for some people religion can make you feel more comfortable, or help you better comprehend what surrounds you. For me, being religious, I really don't find any difference in me than in any of my other friends that aren't. So i guess it would really depend on who the person was.

No, of course not. Religion is often a way to give yourself a "new" happiness, which is why so many Christians have depression. It's a loophole to be ignorantly happy, or, to be polite, happy. However, it's known that a lot of people who have religions have the same or more problems as people who don't. It doesn't make much of a difference, except religion seems to anger a lot of people.

In my opinion, if a God or Gods existed, I would definatley be smited by now.

People convert to a religion if their in need of some satisfaction of there lives by a divine entity.

No... religion has nothing to do with contentment... Im perfectly content with myself... but its not because of a religion.... its because I try my hardest with whatever I do... wether it be family related, personal, or spirtualy related. I do belive though knowing that their is a god out their watching over everyone is, to me at least, a very comforting and content thought.

No. Maybe that was the intention, or maybe not, but in the range of people I have met, religion has played no factor in how "happy" anyone has been. Religion is too broad of a concept to be generalized like that.

Hmmm,
Interesting point to bring up, how we can describe our emotion on our faith. Do we chose it to simply become a better person, if we automatically accept our faith we become happy, or complete with our feelings. No, simply many fear if they don't have faith in a god, they're condemed to sadness/hate.
