If others like me, phoenix, and many other debators listened to this (which i will..right now) there wouldn't be a useless forum for debating Religion. As no one is gonna listen to the other, and it only leads to arguments. I can't prove to you there is a God, and you can't prove to me there isn't. So what i say, is that we all STFU and stop debating..it's retarded........i've had more debates with Phoenix than that are needed, and in the midst of all of them, we never proved anything more or less to eachother. So why does it matter, this is really the most useless forum on the forums....hope ya'll see what i mean, and don't take it out of context or use it to make some retarded comment back. =) i'll be going now, bye guys

That has got to be the smartest damn thing anyone has ever said. It's best if more people like me, Phoenix, and others followed this (which i shall now do...).This debating really makes no sense. It just leads to arguments. No one is gonna listen to the other, they are just gonna keep to their beliefs. I can't prove to you there is a god, and you can't prove to me there isn't. So basically this forum is pointless...nothing i say will make you convert to my beliefs, and nothing you say can make me an aethiest. This forum just leads to people arguing against things that don't help. Many people have left this forum cuz they felt offended by this area of the forums. So, i don't care if you listen or not, but i believe this forum is the most useless of the forums, tis just a place to argue, and no one will benefit from it..i just ask that you don't take this reply out of context, or make some retarded comment back. i just wanted someone to listen to my thoughts...kthxbai

You are falling for the Church's crap.

All (or at least most) of the demons/angels you hear about come from Jewish apochryphal writings and myths. When translating those names, many omissions, additions, and changes were set in place. Many of those tales and writings were bastardized to fit the needs of the Church. Lucifer was "made" into Satan, because they were trying to discourage pride and encourage compliance to those in power. Should you look deeper into it, you'll find that Satan and Lucifer are not the same being. Hell, if you just look at their behavior, it becomes apparent that they aren't the same being. It is true that Lucifer was cast from heaven for defying God, but he was not cast to hell. The rebelling angels were cast down to earth. They mingled with humans, and the Nephilim were created (essentially giants). The angels even gave humans science and reason.

Lucifer was a rebel, one who wouldn't accept God's authority over him. Satan on the other hand never defies God once. He is YHVH's little lapdog, doing the dirty work for YHVH. As I said before, Zoroastrianism influence is where that whole "God=good, Satan=evil" thing came into play. Satan was demonized to inspire fear, which is one of the Catholic Church's fortes in the Middle Ages.

The important thing is to be tolerant. You don't have to accept anyone else's beliefs, just put up with them and keep your beliefs to yourself because nobody wants another person's point of view shoved down their throat without asking.

Religion is a great topic to discuss but only when people can be level headed, mature and open about it without getting offended. Sadly the internet is never a good place for such conversations.
