| Bang! | O-o What verse? Yet Catholocism and Judaism have very major different beliefs. Mainly of which Catholics believe the Messiah's come and the Jews believe the Messiah hasn't come. o-o |

Rep Power: 4 ![]() Level: EXP: | um p3ned, that was the biggest load of crap. "They do, seeing as catholocism almost mirrors judism in both there faith(both, majorities, are extremely devoted to there religion, to the point that outsiders are seen as evil) and strictness(by that i mean in both ancient, catholics and jew, governments had a death sentance for not following the text correctly)." where the heck did you pull that from, your butt? dude, omgosh lol, hilarious. Catholics and Jews DON:T see outsiders as evil. In fact most american Catholics aren't devoted to there religion at all, because they aren't willing to learn about their religion. Those that are devoted, absolutely love outsiders, they just aren't as good about evangalization as other denominations. The Catholic faith doens't see others as evil at all, you might want to make an apology to the catholics. As for the Jewish faith, it doesn't see others as evil either. its sees others as the catholics do, that others are God's children, but they have strayed from worshipping him. You also owe the Jewish community an apology. Kairigirl is right, purgatory is a Catholic doctrine, but i believe it is also a Jewish belief. the Jewish people pray for souls, therefore, i'm fairly certain, they believe in purgatory (maybe by another name( Here's some different links Catholic - http://www.catholic.com http://www.newadvent.com (pretty cool religous dictionary site) Jew - this is actually kinda cool, lotsa links, http://www.jewishsites.org/ Confucianism - another linkage site http://www.gustavus.edu/oncampus/aca...onfucius2.html Quote:
Lucifer was an angel that led a rebellion against God, and as such, was thrown down from heaven to hell. Satan is Lucifer, but with a new name (lucifer means something to do with "the light bearer") and satan ain't gonna keep that name. Not a strategy to get people to convert. the peasantry was naturally superstitious. templar knights aren't satanists either. from what i know, they were what was left from the crusades. They were the proctetors of Jerusalem from the invading muslims. Templar knights were extremely devoted men, giving their lives to protect all the inhabitants of jerusalem and the holy land from slaughter. http://www.lds.org/ ^Mormon Website^ Last edited by Monkey; May 9th, 2006 at 03:45 AM. | |

| Warrior of Light | Nothing on atheism I noticed. It is still a valid form of belief. (fixed) *edit* That website sucks, I dunno I'm sure good ol' wikipedia could explain it better. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atheism Last edited by Legato2471; May 9th, 2006 at 04:15 AM. |

Rep Power: 4 ![]() Level: EXP: | No offense legato but Athiesm isn't a form of faith. It's actually the opposite, the lack of faith. Main Entry: 1faith Pronunciation: 'fAth Function: noun Inflected Form(s): plural faiths /'fAths, sometimes 'fA[th]z/ Etymology: Middle English feith, from Old French feid, foi, from Latin fides; akin to Latin fidere to trust -- more at BIDE 1a (1) : belief and trust in and loyalty to God (2) : belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion b (1) : firm belief in something for which there is no proof (2) : complete trust Main Entry: athe·ism Pronunciation: 'A-thE-"i-z&m Function: noun Etymology: Middle French athéisme, from athée atheist, from Greek atheos godless, from a- + theos god 1 archaic : UNGODLINESS, WICKEDNESS 2 a : a disbelief in the existence of deity b : the doctrine that there is no deity c : lack of faith in an immortal deity sounds kind of like opposing views. did you mean to say that atheism is a valid form of belief? |

| Warrior of Light | Yeah, my fault for mixing that up a little. It's fixed now. To me it's a faith based statement. I can't prove to you that there isn't a god anymore than you can prove to me that there is. I guess that's the best way of putting it. |
