Rep Power: 19 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Level: 41 EXP: | In other news...... lol no but seriously, this is why there are hardly any middle-eastern families that come to my church. There's a few middle-eastern guys/girls, but they dare not let their family know that they have started coming to Christian church, or they may never see the light of day again lol. Quote:

| Rat poison for dinner. | I think a lot of conservative Christian families would overreact to their children converting, too. I think my dad would rather see me dead than see me reading the Qur'an. |

o_o maybe she wasn't too far off then. i would just blame it on the crazy father and not islam though. regardless i really like this quote: "The Lord completely wraps me in his arms of love, and I break down on the floor and weep," she said. "I felt nothing but love, nothing but this great radical love." <3

If I wasn't a Christian my parents would probably be heartbroken and pray for me everyday, but never wish me dead. Because if I'm dead, then there's certainly no chance that in a Christian's viewpoint that I'd be able to go to Heaven. lol.

| rendez-vous à l'horloge, 1992. | I think religion causes more damn problems than it does good. However, I can sort of sympathise with the girl here since I could really stereotype and say that some Muslims are extremists. This is, of course, using the example of terrorists, and while I'm not saying that all Muslims are terrorists, some of them do take their faith pretty damn seriously. What kind of father would hit their child because they want to change their faith? And then realise she's not worth the amount of money they spent on a fancy laptop? I mean, come on. That's not only over-the-top, irrational and abusive, it's also embarrassing and takes away some of the girl's dignity. |

| rendez-vous à l'horloge, 1992. | Yeah, you and me both. :/ No person should have to live in fear at what their parents might do in connection with their religion. Having to live like that in itself is something I would consider to be extreme. |

| Monkeybutt INC | this story is not just old, but filled with fallacies, i read up on this shit like in may the girl is being a little over dramatic bitch, her parents let her be a cheerleader, thats huge for an immigrant family from a muslim country - they are clearly liberal on religious issues. shes a media loving attention whore over the summer ive gotten an email with this story at least 5 times from different christians telling me its an example of something thats happening every day with new chrsitians. lol wut. its basically turned into a chain mail story just the first paragraph of the article shows how this piece of bullshit is yellow jouirnalism at its finest, instead of looking at the issue from an objective, news reporting glance, or showing the people a cause that we as human beings hsould work on, it makes blatant statements that both divide and rack up viewership. |
