Default 'Speaking in Tongues'
i did it for the first time last weekend during a revival for youth and i was kinda wondering what the bible says about it. so could someone cough forever cough atlas cough help me. also has anyone else done

xD Am I the religious section guru here? Haha. Well honestly, I have a very different view about speaking in tongues and no I have never done it.

Since you did ask about what the Bible says about talking in tongues, here's some stuff-

Originally speaking in tongues was an ability that was given to early Christians in the first century given through the holy spirit to some disciples so that they could preach or otherwise glorify God in a language other than their own.

The type that many report happening today I don't believe is the same type as then.

Acts 1: 8 shows some of the reasons for it. but YOU will receive power when the holy spirit arrives upon YOU, and YOU will be witnesses of me both in Jerusalem and in all Ju‧de′a and Sa‧mar′i‧a and to the most distant part of the earth.

I thought the bible said that the people were speaking in tongues so that other nations would understand them. Doesn't that basically mean they were talking in just another culture's language?
