Rep Power: 8 ![]() Level: 32 EXP: | I was doing some Bible studying earlier and went over some of the many prophecies that are in the Bible. This thread is generally for those who do believe in the Bible but I'm sure others will join in anyway. So with Bible prophecies in mind, what are some of the ones that impressed you or that you like? Overall we can discuss Bible prophecy. (just none of that stuff trying to disprove the prophecies or the Bible or the existence of God or portrayal of your hatred for religion etc. for those of you who do not actually believe in the Bible) I know many people have different interpretations of what many of the prophecies actually meant so it should be interesting to see the different thoughts. Although I'm sure disagreements with beliefs and interpretations will arise, let's keep the back and forth debate to a minimal por favor : D Soooooo Bible Prophecy - Let's Discuss. | Fresher than a Glad Bag | Well, what I thought was pretty cool was Isaiah 7:14 where it prophesized the birth of Jesus many years before it was actually supposed to happen. That was pretty dope. |

Rep Power: 8 ![]() Level: 32 EXP: | Cool. I really like the two prophecies that correspond together in Daniel. Daniel 2: 31-45 which speaks about the image of gold, silver, copper, iron, and a mix of clay and iron. Then the prophecy at Daniel 7 about the four beasts from the sea. Both pointing to the world and different political powers from Babylon straight down to our day. Babylonia, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome, then the Anglo-American World Power, then now the vastly divided political world. It's interesting the details you can glean from that prophecy. Like how Alexander the Great's kingdom being divided after his young death. |

| Fresher than a Glad Bag | Aw, dope. I didn't even know that. I know it's pretty well known but the part where Jesus told...Peter was it? That he'd deny him 3 times before the rooster crows was pretty cool. |

Rep Power: 8 ![]() Level: 32 EXP: | Another one I liked was the prophecy about Cyrus of Persia conquering Babylon something like 200 years before at Isaiah 44: 24-28 I think it was. Even went on to say how the water would be diverted from around the city so they could get in easier etc. |

---- Another prophecy that comes to mind is the one Jesus gave about the destruction of Jerusalem in the gospel accounts. I'll go with Luke for this one though. Chapters 19 and onward. Was interesting how it all went down as well. Jesus told his followers to get out of the city when they saw the Roman armies encamped around their city. That wouldn't have been possible under normal circumstance, but when the Roman armies did encamp around Jerusalem, they left suddenly, which gave Jesus' followers the chance to leave and escape the city at that time. Those who left survived the siege of the city when the Roman armies came back. Those who didn't leave, well something over a million people were killed and almost another hundred thousand were taken as captives. | |

Rep Power: 4 ![]() Level: EXP: | I don't see how prophecies pretended to be made before the event in question, and the Bible predicting something which it later fulfills, are anything impressive. And that's all I'll say about this... thread. |
