Currently playing: With your mind! | Wicca/Witchcraft: your opinions? Wicca is usually considered modern-day witchcraft. Most people think of them as Satan worshipers, but Wiccans and other Neo-Pagan groups don't even believe there is a satan, or all evil being. It's a really misundertood religion. Wiccan Witches are the EXACT opposite of the witches of the Bible. Witches in the Old Testamen are evil sorcerers and sorceresses, and witches in the New Testament are poisiners. Modern-day witches are pretty much banned from doing anything to harm anyone, including themselves. So tell me what you think and what-not, please?

I dont get into many political or religious talks because everytime they wind up being arguements about one side or another. Im catholic, so Ive had people all my life trying to tell me God doesn't exist or what proof is there. It really all isn't about the proof of something being there. It's just having faith and believing.

On the one hand, I am suspicious of the witchcraft connection, but on the other hand, I respect other peoples beliefs. So as you can see, I have conflicting feelings about this.

Currently playing: With your mind! | Re: Wicca/Witchdraft: your opinions? Like I said, it's HIGHLY misunderstood. Although I find it REALY REALLY REALLY awesome that there are people on here who are tolerant of it. But not all 'Americans' are. The US Constitution gives us freedom of religion, but just in the past couple decades, there have been lynchings and even one puublic stoning of Wiccans. That's why most of them remain underground and you don't hear a lot about them. Of course, people believe that they stay underground because they have something to hide. I just really wish people could see it for what it really is, like those of you who have already posted on here. It's a belief system, a religion, that celebrates the good in the Earth, and defers from all that is bad and evil. Thanks for being so nice you guys!!!

Currently playing: With your mind! | Re: Wicca/Witchdraft: your opinions? LOL. I thought you were getting off, Frozen Soul...or was that someone else...? No, ever since I met some of my Wiccan friends, I've been super interested. Of course, that was like two or three years ago, and I haven't had a chance to do much research on it until lately, but once you get into it, it really is interesting how much it's misunderstood and all that. Did you ever see the movie The Craft? That's what a lot of people think all that witchcraft is, but in truth, most spells are just like a Christian's prayers to their God, Jehovah, while Wiccans pray to the Goddess and God, ya know? @Angelus: I ADORE Buffy!!!

I haven't watched Buffy; I heard about Wicca from my friend, and read a book about it.
All the rituals and the general idea caught my attention.

Currently playing: With your mind! | Re: Wicca/Witchdraft: your opinions? Have you ever read about the handfasting??? I thought that was really interesting...I'm thinking about trying to talk to my GF/Fiancee about that instead of getting married in a church...idk though what she'll say... One great thing about Wicca is that homosexuality is completely acceptable. It's the first religion I've heard of like that, but that's not the only reason I'm converting, though.

Currently playing: With your mind! | Re: Wicca/Witchdraft: your opinions? I'm trying to learn as much as I can about the whole religion, but the intewebs sources about it are kinda few. Like I said before, most Wiccan coven and solo practitioners hide it.

Currently playing: Final Fantasy X | Re: Wicca/Witchdraft: your opinions? ^I recommend you to go to a good book store with a good variety of literature, and search for Wicca-related books.
They are IMO a much better source than the internet. At least you find what you are looking for from there slightly easier.
