Jesus and Jews

In all of christianity it's always been the Jews.

Moses saving the jews.

Jesus himself was a jew.

So I began thinking what if god sent Jesus to save the jews. Like he doesn't give a damn about christians or catholics. He was all for the jews. Yeah it's a crazy thought but if you read the bible, NO if you even read a single bible story it's about jews. I'm a christian so i'm familiar with the bible so this disturbed me when I caught on to this.

i realised that pretty soon after reading a bit of it. jesus was only supposed to help the jews and then the non jewish people came secound. im catholic and i wonder if it was a translation mistake or something

I doubt it was a translation error. But it really sucks to think that Jesus was sent for the jews. I'm thinking maybe god just abandoned us after the jews killed his son.

That is because there were NO CHRISTIANS when/before Jesus showed up.

And besides jesus' message pertains to EVERYONE not just jews.

people make fun of everything religion, race, stereotypes and Etc. some think it's funny and others not. why do we do it because a percentage of people think it's funny and we all judge each other.

Look, the Bible is a Jewish book, really. The religion started in Israel, so obviously every person that needs to be saved are Jews.

Now I don't believe in God or Jewish people being 'His people'. Total BS, but that's what the Bible says. When they turned their back on Jesus, they were not His people anymore, according to the religion, and that's when it's not just them that need to be saved.

But you gotta understand that the Bible is a book, written by men. You just found out that the Bible was originally written for Jewish people.

You are obviously not that familiar with the Bible
God sent Jesus to save the Jews, no the WORLD, from their sins, because at their current state they were unable to fully remove the mark of sin, but rather cover it up with animal sacrifice.

The penalty for sin was paid by Jesus, and so whoever accepted his sacrifice was saved from the penalty of sin.
The belief in this led to Christianity, which Jews and Gentiles alike came to know.

Also,
I Timothy 2:4 says God “…desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth”
I Timothy 4:10 says "For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach,[a] because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe."

Not some. Not just Jews.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the WORLD that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life."

Read your bibble before claiming stuff like that :D

According to the Bible, God has selected the Jews and Israel for a special purpose, especially in the End Times with the New Jerusalem.

The Old Testament was written for the Jews, and it wasn't always the case for the New Testament, since the redactors/evangelists writing it had different audiences they were writing to for different times (example: Matthew writing primarily for the emerging population of Jewish-Christians, Paul's letters to, well, Romans, Corinthians, etc.). dunno where you're gettin that from the New Testament says plenty of times that no-one is excluded

But now you might imagine why a lot of the Jewish people didn't follow, because of the fact that the Jews thought that they WERE God's people. They probably thought "God brought us out of slavery, gave us a home in Jerusalem, been with us through all this shit like the Babylonian capitvity..." and started to get selfish with him, and all of a sudden this Jew (nevertheless a Jew from NAZARETH, which is the boonies of the boonies) comes up front and center and says GOD IS FOR EVERYONE and calls for an entire change of perception about life, humanity, and God etc. etc.

and what do you mean by "saved?"

ok so we couldnt get rid of sin with animal sacrifice so we upgrade to the human that's a pretty cool god

but really, you're treating it like God's holding us for ransom or something, like he's from the mob, hovering around us and wont go away until we pay that favor we owe him. That we had a debt. That we "appeased" him with the death of Jesus. Come ON. blood for the blood god

Christianity is a spinoff of Judaism that was lucky enough to appeal to the masses in the Empire.

Jesus came for everyone, not for the Jews who are technically apostates for rejecting him as the Son of God.

Heh well, all this issue with Judaism is fucked up, you know that if your mother is jewish you're jewish no matter what your religion is? The jews made a race out of nothing, declaring they are the "superior race". I myself am a Natrualist jew just because of that very fact.
