Who said it has to be in science class? Why not have a class that educates about the religions in the world. Not in depth but to at least give an idea about what people believe.
1. According to US law, you would need to talk about every single religion for the class to be legal.
2. We already have classes that teach about this; we call them Humanities.
3. ID would have nothing to do with these classes because ID proponents claim ID is science.
4. A curriculum are limited. What possible benefit could a student get from this class?

Which is why I posted that law and Christianity work well together when they coexist.
Yes, you keep saying that, but you haven't backed it up. The fact that you say it doesn't make it true.

So if control was to happen and people with good morals prospered whats bad about it?
Like I said, it's already happened. Religion has been used as a tool for control many times before. We all know how that ends up.

It can help when you apply it to laws that you can get around when it comes to lying, stealing little things or bullying others which will lead into having a chain effect and having the victims doing drastic things etc. when you question what would be the Christian way etc. You say even though I won't get caught I might have purposely sinned which is bad.
And I'll tell you (again) that that's not what we see in real life. If you think this is what Christianity should do, well great. But it's not what it does.

More like the followers changed and started to interpret the Bible in a different way.
Exactly, the people. The people forced the religion to change, which is exactly my point. While religious people might have been behind the changes, religion itself has been a roadblock, and it's still a road black.

Offerings while in church? Unless your referring to Scientology.
You're... you're not serious are you?

"Scientology teaches that people are immortal spiritual beings who have forgotten their true nature.[4] Its method of spiritual rehabilitation is a type of counseling known as "auditing", in which practitioners aim to consciously re-experience painful or traumatic events in their past, in order to free themselves of their limiting effects.[5] Study materials and auditing courses are made available to members in return for specified donations.[6] Scientology is legally recognized as a tax-exempt religion in the United States[7] and other countries,[8][9][10] and the Church of Scientology emphasizes this as proof that it is a bona fide religion."

Yes, I am talking about Church offerings. And Church Rallys, and donations to religious-based parties, and The Great Vatican city that has riches beyond the dreams of the some of man's greatest achievements, and of the under-paid preacher who does all the real work but lives in a single-wide trailer house beside the church.

The cons outweigh the benefits of religion.

Also, no, there i no way that believing in an all-powerful being isn't crazy.

Eh, you'll always have your right wing kook that wants the government to promote religion instead of being neutral towards it.

The shadow community cohesion minister said forced secularism was “not the British way” and accused the Government of relying on a failed policy of multiculturalism.
Hehe, kind of like saying that forced emancipation was not the American way.

Yeah, I know it's a pretty dead thread but I just got an e-mail from a friend with an interesting video attached to it especially pertaining to religious groups in Britian.

"gay sensitivity training"? he was HARASSING her by sending her a letter about a question she freely asked?!

bullshit.

it's cool if they don't want religion in the workplace but that's basically baiting people into fighting.

[edit] got to the part when they compared blair to obama, idk about that. that's pretty baseless, just judging him on the way he acts and not what he's actually done.
