| Raping the Willing since 2006 | Well if it is the people that tend to be the ones that push everything to far shouldnt this be more about you hating people that are christian and not christianity itself. Of course there are alot of people that take Christianity too far but you can say that about every religion as well. The typical Christian is more open minded than you may think, but we all mainly see the Christians in the news and how they are holding things back that could help future generations. Normally people these days are religious, but they do not go over the top with their religion. But of course the Christians everyone mainly sees are the idiots that want to push the religion on everyone. |

@ Everyone else: Okay, so basically it is because of the people who try too hard to convince people that Christianity is the truth. I understand, I've talked to many Evangelists, and none of them have ever told me, "Take the Bible, shout at them for awhile about how stupid they are for sinning, and they will definitely become a Christian." I agree that Christianity has gone downhill (in terms of the people involved) and I hope that will change in the next decade or so (though, the trends recently would make that seem unlikely). Of course there a good Christians out there. Where I live, everybody is a Christian and I have no problem getting along with friends and family. Many Christians are open-minded and accepting, however it's the loudest ones, the ones that make other people's lives miserable, the ones that are remembered more strongly. It's like that for everyone. I'm sure that there were Nazis that had their country's best interests in mind, but how are Nazis remembered? Many Muslims are very good people, but how is Islam viewed today? A religion, or a group in general, is only as strong as its weakest link. Quote:

| Pederast | Title's too arrogant for my tastes. Change "Christianity" to "Religion". Christianity not so important that it's the only religion I "dislike". Quote:

Rep Power: 7 ![]() ![]() ![]() | (Because of me lol) Its interesting that this post falls on the week of a few highlighted articles on a website I visit: Religion—What Good Does It Do? The Churches—Where Are They Heading? What Does the Future Hold for Christianity? Why Are People Leaving Traditional Religions? Well, I'll say it this way and not just about Christianity: There will always be people who hate another group or just dont like them. Reasons? There could be many. Many that I know of personally are: Hearsay - What other people tell them about a certain group (that may or may not be true) Personal Experiences (usually bad) Ignorance on the part of those who dislike on the outside or ignorance of those within the group Prejudices both ways Hypocracy Extremists or people simply just dont like the teachings or ideas Something along those lines. Hmm, whether or not Christianity is the minority is probably dependent on which way you view it. On the one hand, if you go by the people who "say" they are Christians, then the number is probably quite high. However, if you go by people who "say and act" like Christians (participate in the Christian lifestyle, follow the Bible, etc.), then the number will probably go down (I say probably because I have no way of knowing for sure). | |

Rep Power: 12 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I don't dislike Christianity, nor do I dislike Christians. I actually volunteer with Christians. What gets to me is the very few Christians who can't cope knowing that someone does not have their beliefs. Those that try to convert you, or insist that you're 'wrong' and the like. I don't like 'fair-weather' Christians either. :/ I hate that they insist they're Christian and will look down on those who aren't, or those who do what they believe to be wrong, but then but carry out acts that are against their own beliefs. Hypocritical. <3 |

Rep Power: 5 ![]() | The ideas of the zealots who forged the religion and the fact that you're following preachings from a book. Limiting yourself to only one viewpoint and basing all of your arguments around this one piece of fiction does not seem logical at all to me. =/ Especially the people who righteously follow the tome, and attempt to do EVERYTHING with it. That's brainwashing, providing only one point of view. |

Rep Power: 1 ![]() | to be honest I don't mind Christianity. It is actually quite a beautiful religion if not applied to real life. I kinda view christianity like my favorite quote "I love god but I hate his fan club." What I'm saying is I don't mind Christianity but I don't like those obsessed with it. Everything in moderation. |

Rep Power: 2 ![]() | While I don't know the context behind that, I can probably take a guess. That probably stems from the idea that it is a sin to disobey the authority over you, like the law (unless they tell you to go against what God says, of course). So, it probably isn't that the Bible says "Thou shalt not litter", but that since the law says not to litter, than it is a sin to disobey the law. |

| Banned | It's not necessarily the Christianity people hate, but the certain types of Christians who are Bible-forcing buffoons. You know, the sort of close-minded, rock-n'-roll hating, Bush-loving hypocrites who basically run - or ruin - society. Generalizations, my lord. |

| wishful thinking | Oh wow. There's lots of stereotyping in this thread. You can't generalize the entire Christian faith, there's so many different branches. Fundamentalists and extremists don't represent the entire church, as I'm sure people have said before. ¬.¬ |

| by sinspire^ | I don't hate Christians. Although, I do hate the idea behind them. They teach the message of good I do believe that, its a false good. They believe so greatly, of what they know is true, and try to argue with you that your wrong and their right. Every Christian, I debated with has either walked away and ranted at me. - They forced their religious beliefs and books in my face. And if you reject them, they make a damn good sure, that you feel like shit, and that your wrong, when I know its the other way around. - They are not so-opened minded as most people have thought, I have numerous Christians walk away from me, when I questioned their beliefs, only when they first questioning my own. I don't shove my views, up people's ass. You wanna know the truth? My friend, you won't find it in a book. - They rule the world. The united states is top example of a Christian nation with an iron hand to rule the land. They want something, they will take it. I am a firm believer of the separation of church and state. They can't co-exist with each other. If, you wish to govern a land, you must govern as humanly as possible. - Hypocrisy, many people sin, constantly. But, your still a Christian? You don't even follow the example you claim. Stop 'sinning' and go to church. |
