Rep Power: 3  |  The Planet We Know As Earth I have been watching quite a few programs this week on nature on TV this week. Nature including animals, trees, the oceans, etc. all that good stuff. Heh. Such a vast variety, millions of species of everything on earth. So it makes you think, what is really the purpose for the Earth? With all these things on the Earth, every animal, every plant, humans, everything that works together, the trees that provide oxygen for us to breathe and recycles our wastes, the water cycles. All the fruits and different foods that are here not just for humans to eat, but also animals. I mean, most of us get so caught up in daily life, school, work, personal interests, family, friends, and so on, that we dont really for the most part have time to even think about much else. But if you look at the Earth, cosmology, biology, everything that is perfect to the hundredth% for sustaining life, looking at the fact if the earth was to move any faster or slower in its orbit, or if it was to be moved any closer or farther in its position from the sun, that life would not be able to be sustained on earth, what do you think really the earth's purpose is? I know many different religions teach different things for what the earth is meant to be, science teaches what it can do and what it has... and on and on. What do you think the earth is meant for? Do you believe the earth is going to be here forever? |

And no Earth is not gonna be here forever. Well, it will, but it wont be a living planet anymore. When the sun runs out of fuel, Earth will be nothing more than as lifeless space object. Although I've read recently that scientists have a theory that the Earth will indeed make contact with the sun when the sun becomes a red giant; causing the Earth to completely vanish from the universe.

The earth won't be here forever, an asteroid will come at some point in time (assuming that time is infinite and therefore anything is possible and anything and everything will therefore happen at least once) and destroy this rock. Rep Power: 9 | Re: The Planet We Know As Earth Universe is a pretty big place. Out of the of the trillions of planets, it's not implausible to say that just one wouldn't meet the right criteria for life to develop. So yeah, I don't think the Earth has a "purpose".
