What do you have to live for?

To those who don't believe in any sort of theism or anything of the sort, what do you have to live for, I ask? What's your purpose to live?

We simply breed, and then die. With nothing we are brought into the world, and with nothing we leave. What's the point? In the end, you'll simply be devoured by scavenger organisms, maggots, and worms until you're forgotten. None of your money, morals, fame, accomplishments, feelings, thoughts, or principles would matter in the end. In the end, everything will be gone and not as it is. So what do you live for?

Does it matter? If you were dead you wouldn't care whether you had fun or not, since you wouldn't exist, and eventually you won't exist, just like at one point you never did.

Besides last time I checked real life sucks, full of bills, crashing governments, and colliding beliefs. Does it matter though? Eventually, you are going to die. And that's the end of it.

There are plenty of positives to out weigh the negative aspects.

Why, in your opinion, do the positives have more importance to reality than the negatives, in terms of weight I guess?
What temporary positives that seem to be diminishing all the more diminish negatives such as the rise on crime, terrorism, corrupt government, failing standards of living, economy, disease, and hatred?

The journey of life itself, the fact that you get to experience life should be your main positive. There’s also family, love, friendship, success financially and morally etc.

Immortality exists. You begin as stardust and so you shall end. We may not always exist in the same form, after all, new cells are born while old cells die every second, but what makes us up goes back into the Universe, so nothing ever completely dies because nothing can be completely destroyed.

So until my body returns to stardust, I live for the basic human reasons. Human pleasure is pretty fun and for now I live for another being the same way she lives for me. So don't look at existence in terms of life and death, look at it in terms of matter, energy and experience.

No one can anwer why we r here, so we just keep on going and live life as best we can. The only fact i can give is so that we can reproduce, i don't know to what outcome. sometimes u just have to face the fact in the end ull die, so be gratefull of the life u have.

I live because there are goals I want to accomplish in my life, things I want to do before I die. Once I accomplish them, I can die in peace.

It's that simple. I don't need the promise of an aftelife to be happy, have morals, be a good person, and benefit society.

In fact, I prefer it this way: I'd eventually go insane in heaven anyway, I figure.

Thing is, I'm not going to believe something just because I'd like to. Would it make me happy if there was really a benevolent, omnipotent creator watching out for me and the ones I love? Certainly.

But I see no reason to believe in that being, and so I won't believe in him. I want the truth. And so I'll believe in what I think is closest to truth. If it's christianity, I'll be christian. If it's muslim, I'l be islam. If it's wicca, I'll be wicca. If it's agnosticism/atheism, that's what I'll be.

my death could be a natural death...

a gruesome death....

a mysterious death.....

but even still....

I want to protect my family when i grow up and i want to have a good career or job

if i am alive by that time....

my religion

my family

I believe in God....

that's what i live for...
