What do you have to live for?

If your asking directly to me, then nothing. I have no belief in a god, parents hate me, no girlfriend, friends could care less if I lived or died atm, ('cept maybe one ... maybe ...) really have no talent at all, and people just dont seem to like me ... BUT if your asking in general (as in what does the human race have to live for A.K.A. What is our purpose?) then I have no clue. I dont think anyone does. I dont even think we have a purpose (well ... besides to die eventually but thats not real encouraging ...) ... so pretty much yeah, I really have no clue lol sorry

I live to see answers. I might miss some, but questions inevitably come later. And answers are sought for again. If the singular existence we have now is a pitch black space, I'd stick around to see the answer to "Will there ever be change here?" Which makes me think twice on my reason for existence to: I live to see change.

I don't have some great answer for this.
I live because I prefer it over the alternative.
Even though it may all amount to nothing, at least I'll have some experienced something.

We simply breed, and then die. With nothing we are brought into the world, and with nothing we leave. What's the point? In the end, you'll simply be devoured by scavenger organisms, maggots, and worms until you're forgotten. It's all in how you look at it. That's the pessimist's approach. Just because someone's an atheist or agnostic does not mean they have such a bleak outlook.

I'm Agnostic, though I prefer to generally ignore the term since I don't consider myself a part of any affiliation whatsoever. Whether or not there is a "life" after this one or any deity (/deities), I don't know, I don't want to profess that I could know, and I don't want to care about it. I live for now, not what could potentially happen later.

In spite of a death that could lead to nothing, I like life and I try to live it fulfillingly. I believe in the good of man just because. There is no explanation for me. I could say it could be some sort of divine morality, or that it is biologically engraved in my mind as a part of group survival, but I don't think about that. Just the fact that it's there, the fact that I have it is good enough reason for me to use it. Why scrutinize a beautiful thing and not leave it as is? One might say that I'm on the fence because I'm indecisive, but hey, it's my decision, going either way just isn't my cup of joe.

I find both religion (all kinds) and lack thereof to be interesting. While I disagree with the concept of generalizing yourself into a solid "yes" or "no" on the theism debate, it's still interesting to study both sides. I think that either way, or any way, people like to put their faith in something, whether it be in religion or otherwise (even having faith in NOT having faith). It's a part of the human condition and is perfectly healthy.

So, to me, the question isn't, "What do you have to live for?" There is no question. I just live. And it's a good thing in my opinion.
