Well I assumed he was because he was speaking based upon the assumptions of a "loving god" which everyone tends to tie to the New Testament/Christian God. Sorry if I'm wrong

Okay, you go to a party, realize it'll end, and decide to leave. There's no point in enjoying it because it's just gonna end eventually.

Well let's assume when you're dead that you won't remember or care about anything that happened in your life. So would it matter if you lived or not? You're just a piece of matter in the universe again. :3

If anything I'm trying to dig into the topic to see your responses if to whether life is purposeful or not, and what logically gives your life any meaning or purpose whatsoever if tomorrow it could be terminated and that's the end of it. Just thought it would be an interesting topic to delve into. The value of life, ya know? Assuming there's no after-life.

As long as I made a difference, made the world better, I would be happy dying that way. If I didn't know I made a difference or just didn't at all, well, I lived a happy life for the most part, I had a great gift (life) and used it the way I wanted, so it's okay.

I guess what keeps me going is a myriad of dreams and aspirations and goals that I want to accomplish while I'm here, and I can't accomplish them if I'm dead.

While I have a theism, I assume that most people are motivated to live, rather than just drag through it b/c death is an inevitable fate. That's just morbid.

Which brings me to another interesting question for some of you. Who's to say that the positives in life outweigh the negatives? What makes life "great" if all good things are temporary, and all bad things are temporary? Does it make life worth living if your life sucks?

This is like an emo fest waiting to happen. "I have nothing to live for since I'm just going to die anyway. I should just kill myself."

I like going out to parties with my friends. I like coming online and posting here. I like playing video games. I like watching movies. I like reading comic books. I like girls. Can't do any of that when I'm dead, can I? So I gotta enjoy it while I can. I may not remember any of the things that I do, but there's no need to spend the remaining years of my life miserable and sad because I won't remember anything when I'm dead. There's no need to focus on the future and death, when I can live in the now and enjoy everything.

I sincerely doubt that god MEANT for young women in Africa to be tortured and raped.

If there is an afterlife, you'll live there just as simple and plain as everyone else. Your LIFE serves no purpose other than to serve and worship your God.

What is the point of living when you must spend this life in servitude and worship, and when the next life is so much infinitely better?
The point is to recruit more followers. By definition, all religions are cults, and the largest cults use a pyramid scheme.

To be honest, I adore the CONCEPTS of christianity. Christ, whether divine or man, was a great inspirational leader with an amazing message. His followers, however, are shit at following it. So if I was to follow the faith, I'd reject the God and accept the teachings.

I live because I am alive. I have no greater purpose, no infinite meaning, and when I die my time will end. I have no greed, I will not cling to life when it is over, I'm not so insecure in my happiness as to invest my future in a God I believe to be fundamentally false (and by proxy lie to myself) just to reassure myself I'll live forever. That's a childish fantasy, time to grow up. If THAT is your reason for faith, I think you need to re-assess your life. That is NOT what the Bible intends. I promise. That is false-faith, and it is disgusting.

The anti-atheism arguments are weak, degrading, and immature at best.

I don't care what you think of me, I'm not treating you the same hurtful way you are treating me, so please be respectful. You think asking you to be nice to me when I'm doing the same for you, regardless of whether you deserve it or not, is being "self-righteous", "pretentious", and being a "prick"?

As for God having a plan:
