Do you believe that playing games. . .

Basically, I want to ask if you believe that playing games that could be considered, "immoral" might have a negative impact on your soul, and thus may harm your religion.

Personally, I don't really see a problem with games, as long as it isn't promoting devil worship (although I still play SMT games. . .)

I agree with you it has to do with the person choice in games I mean I know some very religious
that wouldn't approve of kh but I still play them

Personally, I don't see a problem with games at all as well as you do. If problems with games do arise with teenagers or kids, it's because parents aren't raising their kids right. Video games don't cause violence, ivideo gmaes do.

And playing video games isn't immoral in any way. Well, in my opinion, at least. I know a priest and a Brother who have Wii and 360. They both have played Halo 3 and Gears of War. But not too much because neither of them like blood or gore.

Well, right now all I've played is the original (looking for a plugin to change the rom to english) and Nocturne, but why does that even matter?

religion doesnt really impact my choices, i am agnostic, so i dont think it has any negative impacts on my life...ive actualy benefitted by playing the early final fantasys, i learned how to read some and i gained the consept of adding and subtracting by watching the life. i was very little at the time, and this was before i learned how to multiply, which was when i was 3. i dont think that video games have any "negative affects" on anyone's soul, and that is why

Since I don't really follow a specific religion, it isn't something that's ever crossed my mind, and I don't think it should matter anyways. Besides, I don't see what's wrong with it, you aren't doing anything evil, maybe in the game, but that's all it is, a game.

Only game I see close to this is a game were your in a Christan army and your have to convert people, if they don't...kill em. You know it was on CNN a year ago.

Agnostic here.

Nothing will happen to your soul if, you play games. If the game itself has a storyline that deals with theology of religion and you begin to question your religion or other religion, congrats your thinking in new ways. (Which is not always a bad thing)

Its really up to you to decide whether a game or your teachings will decide something for you.

Try explaining that to my mom, her and GTA4 is the whole reason that this thread exists. . .

She seems to think that I won't commit the deeds that are in the game, but something will somehow soak into my mind and warp my young impressionable mind. . .

teens arnt as affected by things like that as much as little kids

Lol only thing that would make video games bad is if you attempted crazy BS in like killing games... otherwise its not bad at all...

I would have to slightly disagree. it may affect little kids MORE but it could affect SOME(not all,some) teenagers and it seems more likely they would have power to actually do really bad things instead of just be influnced and be slightly more violent. I think it all depends on the person alot of teens can be affected aswell I mean do you hear about more teens or more kids having sex and or doing drugs? hmm. I am not being all anti-teen its mostly just trying to kill that thought that seems to be hanging around that teens wont be affected that much and its mostly just kids.
