I'm not religious so no. However, to my understanding, I can see where the parents are coming from, today's youth are quite influential, and are susceptible to corruption. We don't want our youth lingering in constant reach of these "no-no's" so we take precaution, even if it means taking away video games.

I don't see the problem with playing games as long as the player knows that the game is fiction and not real.

That's a bit of a broad summary don't you think? To be abnormal and play video games doesn't make you influential in the sense.

If someone thinks putting a gun too you're head and thinks they cans summon a Persona by doing it. I wouldn't call that normal.

No you are right no one is normal but I wouldn't call someone normal who takes games too heart. But I see normal people as playing games and not copying off them. I call them crazy or whatever adn they shouldn't be playing games.

The only way a game can negatively effect you in a religious way is if your religion forbids the game. Even then not really.

I understand the concept of your post, I just don't quite think it's fair to generalize; the terminology of 'normal' is highly over used and abused. Also, don't you think it's quite coincidental and a slight case of the 'lol' factor that we end up debating about the mental ability of how to percept a video game in what was Religious?

I'd say more misunderstood, less blurred. What's normal is only based on the influences in society; I'd assume that Grand Theft Auto would be more scandalous in a community with a heavy religious sect, rather one without.

She's just worried about her child; it's a natural reaction for a parent to have. Whether or not it "warps your young, impressionable mind" is up to you. Video games can affect people in different ways, but ultimately it's just up to the individual as to how they interpret whatever it is they are playing/watching/etc.

I don't believe any of this. Holding a real gun to a real person's head is bad. Holding a virtual gun to a virtual person's head is a game.

This is just gonna happen with Haze in a couple weeks. Soon, FOX News is gonna be saying how teens will want to try performance enhancing drugs.
