Dunno.

Well, it makes more sense because when I was learning evolution it just didn't seem like the truth about animals/people/world ect.

The Biology I'm being taught now seems more like the truth.

Just curious: do you have any particular reason as to why evolution doesn't seem like the truth? Anything at all?

It just doesn't make sense to me really.

How the universe was created by a big bang and only the earth was suitable for life and how everything evolved from some type of simple life form.

Just doesn't seem possible.

Uh, you do realize the universe is much, much larger than most humans can even begin to comprehend, right? Even if it was an extremely low chance that a single planet in it would have the conditions to generate life, it'd happen, multiple times even.

The idea that creatonism/intelligent design is more plausible than evolution is ludicrous. Your defense is even more preposterous; if a single split atom can cause the mass destruction seen at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the 'Big Bang' is more than plausible. Besides, evolution has been essentially proven; the only reason it is a theory is the fact that we don't know where the first once came from. Some of you may not know this, but it's actually possible for humans to create single celled organisms. If we can do it, nature probably can as well.

But to be honest, both ideas bring up the same questions. Where did the first one come from? Is there a reason for everything being created? Should I have a hotdog or a hamburger?

Unfortunately, only evolution has an actual scientific basis, and will be useful outside of an obviously biased school, not to mention the fact that it is widely accepted. You and your school make no practical sense whatsoever.

of course it makes more sense. you're being taught that the earth was created by God waving his conductor's baton from on high.

As a Catholic, I believe that.

As a level headed individual in today's society, evolution seems to be the most plausible explanation. unless my descendants don't evolve and grow gills. fish people FTW.

Except for the fact that they'll only develop gills based upon random mutations that happened to allow them to survive in their environment.

when the air quality drops down low enough and we move underwater, we'll get gills. trust me.

You're proposing the inheritance of acquired characteristics, which has been proven as false.

Either we are saved by technology or mutations, or we die. Simple as that.

And I'd rather place my faith in science than you, thanks.

you lost me at "acquired characteristics".

and btw, you're quite wise. hell, even I'D place my faith in science rather than me.

Which has nothing to do with evolution. Now you're referring to physics, not biology.

You disagree with this because of what reason?

Personally, I don't have a strong opinion on the matter, at least not passionately so. In terms of a science/laboratory class (Biology, Physics, etc.), it seems more plausible to me to teach through the theory of Evolution, or any theory that has some scientific data to back it up. It is a science class, after all.

If a school wants to have an elective, such as Biblical Studies, or whatever, that's fine, too. That way, if a student wants to learn about Creationism, he or she can.
