Piggy banks and fairytales about pigs forbidden because of muslims.

I just read in a newspaper about a bank in Netherlands that had to remove piggybanks from sale because found the pigs offensive to their religion. I also read that a kindergarten in England couldn't tell the children the fairytale of the three little pigs for the same reasons and had to change the fairytale into "the three little kittens". How far can it go??

I don't have anything personal against muslims. I have many muslim friends that are really nice people, but I got a little upset when I read about that.

I read about it in a norwegian newspaper so it's no use to post a source since most of you will probably don't understand what it is said in the article, but it was about what I wrote about above...

I dont know. It feels like lately there is always something that might be offensive to some religion in some way. I think it's ridiculous. They are starting to change things that have been in place for years. I think it's stupid. I think that Santas in a mall can't say Ho ho ho anymore. This past Christmas, there was a school around here that changed something with Christmas because of Muslim religion. I can't remember what it was about though. Something happened around Halloween time too.

yeah... lol.... well... thats life lol.... the religion im with has been fighting in courts all around the world for freedoms for ourself and thus works out for freedom of all sorts of people.... i mean... if u wana do something do it... keep your beliefs out of other ppls lives if they dont want it there... they shouldnt have to be forced on others just because you dont agree with them.

Ya. It is a bit ridiculous to me too. But thats them. If they hold something dear, we can't blame them. Its like something we'd get offended over, whatever they may be.

everyone with a religion does these sorts of things. if it insults them in the slightest bit they decide to gather up an angry mob and claim it insults their religion thus it must be stopped! it's really idiotic. as much as i hate to say it though i'm sure in some way or form everyone can relate to that. by that i mean there must be something that your religion would be offended by. if so wouldn't you like to have it changed then? though they're just my thoughts...

yes, but it's getting to much if a country has to change something that they have had for years just because of minority doesn't like it...

I think people should just leave well enough alone. You don't have to accept whats there but taht doesn't mean peopel who have mbrace that tradition can't keep it up.

please do not make generalizations like this... cause it is not true....... at all.... -.- though there are many religious ppl or groups who may do this... not all do

my apologies i neglected an error in my statement. I was in a rush when i wrote that down. However i'll explain what i meant correcting what i had previously said. what i meant by that is that every religion has groups of people who do that. all except for scientology. this is due to the fact that their "religion" is based on being a fanatic. Do not deny that for all that is true. whether you're a Muslim, a Jew or whatever. there are people like that that exist within your religion. save for that one that i just mentioned.


however now that we're on the subject please tell me. if something about your religion was insulted would you not get upset? do not lie on this.

call us crazy call us weird... but we have been going through religious persecutions for years and years and years all around the world... and we keep on with joy. sure we may get upset depending on what it is... bt we dont take actions into our own hands.... we dont fight, we dont march, we dont force our opinions on others or tell schools for example not to have christmas anything because we dont celebrate it... we just dont take part in things that we dont agree with. We may at time go to the courts for certain rights, but those rights dont force anything on anyone else....

we dont make others stop doing what they like or what they believe in just because we dont... that wouldnt make any sense really.

They dont force anyone to do anything at all.... they just follow Christianity the way its supposed to be done.

and they do it at a great expense to themselves too... do u ever ask why they go to your doors or try talk to you? They dont get paid for it, they dont get any personal gain.... Its because they are genuinely interested in their fellow man no matter who they are. and since they believe what they have they like to share it with those who are WILLING to listen. they dont force anything.
