| Fight 'em til we can't. | YouTube - God the psycho Admittedly, I don't know a whole lot about the Bible as I haven't read very much of it, personally. However, I do know the basic points of the more pivotal stories. Anyways, I've watched a lot of this guy's videos and I find this one to be not only the most interesting, but the most personally relatable. I recently had a friend tell me believing in God and following the religion was a small price to pay to ensure an exclusion from damnation. However, I agree with Pat Condell. Even if God did exist, I wouldn't have the slightest respect for him, "Farthest from him is best." Anyways, what d'you guys think? Either about the video or just on God as a character (I mean his traits and the like)? I'm sure that the thread'll sprial into a number of varying religious topics but I have no problem with that. <3 Oh, and...it's YouTube. I can't garauntee that the link steers clear of any foul or "offensive" language. However, the video pretty much sticks to "PG-13" |

I think I would rather suffer eternal damnation than worship him (and since I'm an apathetic agnostic atheist, I most definitely will). No offense to anyone of course. =] |

| Fight 'em til we can't. | I'm afraid that I know naught of this "Smooth". D: But yes, HadesDragon, I find myself agreeing with almost every word that comes out of his mouth. The only topics that I can't say I agree with are the ones that I know little about. Sometimes, he incorporates current events into his videos and I'm just like, "lolwut?" |

| PostMentalFerocity | I can't see this video, what are some of the things it says? |

| Fight 'em til we can't. | He basically explains how in his opinion, God is a hypocrite for giving humans free will and then punishing them for what comes "naturally," claiming that God is basically a sadist. Not only that, but he talks about things like how if there's a village that doesn't believe in God, you're to kill everyone in it "even cattle" and then burn it to the ground. "Oh, and 'thou shall not kill'." Finally, he says that even if God "came down and waved the Book of Judges in my face," he would still opt for eternal damnation than complying with a "psycho." *shrugs* It'd really be best to watch it. He says a lot of intelligent things, in my opinion. |

| PostMentalFerocity | Well, I really can't complain since those things did happen according to the bible, but a psycho? Who's judging God, and by what standards? |

| Fight 'em til we can't. | Uh...Pat Condell is judging him, and by the standards that God presents in the Bible. I mean, sure, he's God so he can do whatever he wants in all "reality," but it's certainly not a very constructive way to teach your children. And Pat states simply that if that is the true way of God, he finds it simply inhuman and as he is a human, sees no reason to follow the ways of the Bible. |

| PostMentalFerocity | But isn't a concept your parents teach you is "Do as I say and not as I do?" Why wouldn't that apply to God as well? |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I know why there is no pro-God into this post, because all of them know that they'd just be torn to shreds because it's like 6 vs. maybe 1. But I liI know why there is no pro-God into this post, because all of them know that they'd just be torn to shreds because it's like 6 vs. maybe 1. But I like those odds. I'll start with what I can remember: he said that Abraham was the first to say there was one God. Which is not true, at least with what he says. He mentions Adam and Eve so if they did exist they would be the first to believe in one God since they got to see him...just pointing that one out. Then we go to the sacrificing his son story. What that was is to prove love for a God. While there may have been psychological damage, that is left to be known. I find it interesting that he leaves out all of the good miracles in the Bible. Like lepers being healed, blind seeing, lame walking, def hearing, and mute talking. I would really love to hear his explanation to why he doesn't want anything to do with someone who does those things for those who are so much lesser than him. To God, we're like ants....so next time you see someone bandaging an ant's leg, you let me know. Another thing I found interesting was the Adam and Eve story. If your girlfriend told you that you could go as far as you wanted as long you did not touch her breast. And you really think that's fine, then you have someone come along and tell u that she won't care, so you decide to go for it because u've already screwed her, she shouldn't care about a base backwards. But then she gets pissed, not necessarily because of the action, but because you didn't respect her enough to respect her wishes. It's one of those things that it's not a big deal at all, but if u respect them, then you do what they ask. It's also kind of like you don't call your girlfriend fat just to see her reaction. That's just stupid. Then there's the "kind of people God attracts." Let's count almost every President in American History. Almost every British King or Queen. A majority of the world's population. Martin Luthor King Jr.....Michaelangelo I believe....So basically most of the great people that the world considers great he wants nothing to do with...Whatever floats his boat, but I personally would like something to do with George Washington. But I do understand kind of what he meant. He meant the sick and the weak. But honestly, I don't think it's bad to heal the sick or give hope/strength to the weak. If you do then you probably think Charities are complete wastes. But the video wasn't all bad to me. He did make one great point. He did say that we have made God too human. We must remember that He isn't human, and therefore can't be put to human standards. If we did we should then also put a tiger to human standards. If it kills a human that was in it's territory, then it must be an evil tiger cuz you just don't kill people. Any scientist would tell you that this should not be done because tigers simply aren't humans, their brains work differently and they have different rules than we do. They are just too different. |

2. Phoenix alone could rape you. 3. Just to show you how easy it is to stop your argument, someone could say "I don't believe in God." and your whole defense goes away. Quote:

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Actually I took on Phoenix once, and he had to go completely on the defense and switch things around. He never was able to complete the objective I set for him. So we've been down that road and I actually tricked Phoenix into participating in my experiment that proving whether or not God exists is pointless because both proving and disproving can't be done, at least without emotions flaring and then the argument becoming a pissing contest. And yes, my whole defense goes away, but then again, so does the whole Bible. The author of this was saying, "assuming there is a God, I don't want anything to do with him, and here's why." So of course I go off the basis of assuming there is a God. So saying you don't believe in a God is completely pointless for this discussion..... |
