I need help with bass clef, omfg, ever since I started playing violin I keep reading it as treble.
I've been doing this for like the past hour: Note Reading - Bass Clef

I got pretty good pretty fast with lessons on both practical and theory. Haven't touched it in over a year, though.

I did tons of theory this year but it was just for composition, not actually playing.

for base cleff, theres a REALLY easy trick.

you just jump the note two half steps up, or one whole step [like, it's on the note f in base cleff, but when you jump it up twice it turns into a. and so you play a in the piano w.e]

um i first got started with piano when i was like 6 or less i think. i was good at ear stuff and all that. then i got a real piano for my birthday. and so i used that and only got lessons like 3 times. that was just really basic stuff that i forgot later on. but i learned piano and now im pretty good/fair i guess. learning violin helped a lot though ^^ [concert mistress FTW!]

eh im learning "concert paraphrase on dearly beloved" from the kh piano collections right now. >I I thought it was going to be very hard but it's pretty easy.. except for like crazy arpeggios i cant play physically, small hands[blame azn gene], and then the ending / last page is like woah.

I used to play it. But my teacher was a crazy and was really mean to me. She was also Korean so I could never understand what she said under her accent.

i only took like 3 or 2 lessons. and that was when i was like 7 or something so i dont remember anything about it. well except that the lady was old and had a bunch of types of pianos.

if your talking about reading notes a good locating spot is the note c. in treble clef three spaces up is C. in bass clef three spaces down is C. also the line that runs through the middle of the base clef is F

i use to have a lot of trouble with that, but after i figured it out that its just two half steps/one whole step up it got waay easier xD

lol.. did you get brought down to like 2nd chair or something? heh.. i know its bad of me but i tend to worry/focus more on music then in school work.. so i don't turn in work in some classes =_=

lmao I ended up quitting orchestra and when I joined again I was like 8th chair. >_>

I love piano! It's one of my favorite instruments! I've been playing since I was 5 or 6. I have to have lesson almost everyday because my mom is my teacher! :( I never had trouble with either of the clefs because I play instruments in both of them. I love concerto No.7 in G minor, but I have trouble playing it all together. I'm a very big music person! I'm also glad to see there is another violinist on KHI!xD

I started lessons when I was eleven, and got to a fair level of skill before quitting six months later.
When I started, my rate of improvement was very noticeable since I started at zero, but when I couldn't see myself getting drastically better anymore, I got frustrated. That and my own perfectionism caused me to quit.

After that, I kept up with playing what I knew on my own until I was fourteen and took Music for a semester at school. This time, I learned a lot of the theory that I hadn't really grasped when I was eleven. I was forced to play bigger and better pieces, but after the course ended, I decided not to take further classes (which I regret sometimes).

Nowadays, I sometimes download some sheet music and try to teach myself, but I can be pretty bad at reading sometimes. So far, I've had the most fun playing ragtime

I like playing KH songs, and FF Piano Collections, especially 1000 words, Epilogue~Reunion~, ect.
Mostly video game soundtracks, and some from Pirates of the Caribbean 3 and Naruto. :P
Now I want to see into getting KH Piano Collections book, it's like 18$ so I might get it :P
Yeah playing violin helps a lot xD Trying to master 8th position....... =___=
