Rep Power: 14 ![]() ![]() Level: 25 EXP: | I attended one of the showings on a sultry Thursday evening. UNO is the only place I know covered in parking lots but never open to we plebeians. Also the campus is cluttered with construction sites. I would have walked right through the no pedestrian traffic" area had I not known campus security had delusions of grandeur. Anyway, I was late, so I'll probably go to another showing even if I can't convince anyone to go with me. The production was fantastic. I had never seen MacBeth onstage before, only read it. I was very impressed by this Lady MacBeth and by how elaborate the action scenes were, the requisite castle storming scene in the final act and the banquet/ghost of Banquo scenes in particular. The battles were all-out with the many Thanes onstage each with sword and shield clashing leading to an elaborate duel between MacBeth's and MacDuff. I was expecting some of the battle scenes, but the coronation banquet took me by surprise. In it the actor playing MacBeth stumbled around at the sight of a bloody Banquo over chairs and tables, literally displacing all the mirth. It was certainly an energetic rendition. ...but yeah, I don't know why I never went to a single show those years I spent at the on campus apartments literally right next to the park. One thing's for sure, I'll be going every year from now onward. |
