Silent Hill wasn't actually that bad of a movie. Just had some piss poor acting at some points.

But oh fuck yeah Sam Raimi. Drag Me to Hell's easily in my top three for 09 so far, love him as a director. I'm looking forward to this.

How will a plot work for a movie based off a MMORPG?

Unless the story is about a fat man who is sucked into the game, I don't get it.

There's more to Warcraft than World of Warcraft. I've only played Warcraft 3, but, uh, it was pretty plot heavy. It wouldn't be too hard to pull off a movie using that world and it's mythology.

Maybe the movie could fill the huge gap that is between War3 and WoW. I mean there are a shitload of plot holes.

As long as it sticks to pre-established characters, it could be decent.

Just because World of Warcraft has a negative stigma attached to it, doesn't mean you should associate it with all things Warcraft.
Warcraft 3 is a great RTS in terms of gameplay and story. Plus the game editor is great for budding game developers

And the lore of the Warcraft universe itself is very engaging. If done right, it quite possibly could be the next Lord of the Rings.
Dismissing a movie because it's based off of a franchise of games that people stereotype as fat, lonely nerds is pretty immature.
I guarantee you the install base for WoW is not made up wholly of the people you think it to be.

But I don't want to put myself in the same place as them on purpose. Same reason I don't go into comic shops at weekends. Urge to beat to death becomes too strong. (I am aware this is not a proper or reasonable response)
