I just finished George Orwell's Animal Farm and I really enjoyed it. I finished it in one sitting actually. I could not help but notice that Orwell uses a lot of the same themes in 1984; that is, unity under a common enemy (Snowball and Emmanuel Goldstein, and I'm almost certain those characters are based off of Leon Trotsky) and the manipulation of history and language to benefit those in control. All in all, a nice fable-like critique of authoritarian governments by George Orwell.

Anyway, I've also been reading a book of short stories by William Faulkner which I'm also enjoying very much. "Two Soldiers" is so far my favorite. I'll probably also finish Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray before the break is over.

I just recently finished The Fires of Heaven by Robert Jordan, so I guess that the next book on my list is Lord of Chaos, the next in the Wheel of Time series.
